Be it known that I, GEBHARD Jensen, a citizen of the United States, residing at Coluinbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented a certain nen7 and useful Improvement in Means for Supplying Vater to Concrete-Mixers, of which the following is a specification.
A modern or popular type of concrete mixer includes a drum open at one end, means for oscillating the drum to diierent positions and means for rotating the drum Whatever' be its position. Delays have heretofore been occasioned in supplying Water to such a drum, itbeing sometimes necessary to stop the mixing operation. The obj ect of the present invention is to provide means Whereby Water can be supplied to the drum in desired quantity at any time, either during the oscillating or rotating operation or in any preparation for the mixing operation.
The invention is embodied in the example herein shown and described, the feature of novelty being'ponted out in the appended claim.

In the views 5 designates the drum which is mounted to rotate around a spindle on a yoke 6, said yoke having trunnions that are supported at opposite sides of the drum in suitable standards like that illustrated at 7. One of the trunnions 8 has cast With or secured to it a large internal gear 9 that is engaged by an actuating pinion 10 journaled in the standard 7. The Vshaft of the pinion 10 has secured to it a crank 11 containing a handled operating arm 12 pivoted to the crank at 12 and on the standard are catches 13 into which the handled arm can be swung to latch the drum in the position to which it may be oscillated by turninglthe pinion.
The trunnion 8 is axially olloW or tubular and the large internal gear has cast upon it a tubular portion 8a that connects With the tubular trunnion and forms a lateral extension thereof reaching to the rim of the large internalv gear. Attached to the rim of the said gear and registering With the open end of the tubular portion 8a is a pipe 8b having ya bent portion at its upper end to discharge into the openend of the drum.
15 designates the Water supply pipe. Said pipe contains a controlling valve as at 16. The pipe 15 leads from a suitable tank or other source of supply and is stationary With respect to the trunnion. Said pipe 15 is connected to discharge into the hollow trunnion by means of a short swiveling tube 17. Said tube 17 is threaded to receive one thread of an elbow 18 into the other thread of Which the supply pipe 15 is threaded. A stung box 19 on the trunnion and through which the swiveling tubel? extends prevents leakage around said tube 17.
Because the tubular portion 8a and 8b oscillate vWith the drum Water admitted thereto discharges into the drum Whatever be the position of the drum and if necessary While the drum is being both oscillated and rotated. IThe result of this construction is that no delays are occasioned by the necessity of supplying Water to the mixture.
The drum is rotated for the mixing e'ect by means of a pinion 20 on a shaft 21 passed through a boring of the opposite trunnion of the yoke as usual in mixers of this type'.
The forms of the parts can be changed Without departing from the gist of the invention as claimed.

1n combination With a mixing drum having a single opening for both supplying and discharging the materials and Water to be mixed, a drum-supporting yoke, means whereby the drum may be both oscillated and rotated on said yoke, awater conductor formed on said means and a pipe connected with said conductor at the axis of oscillation of the drum to discharge through said open-
