To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUY S. THoRsoN, citizen of the United States, resident of Minneapolis, county of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Holders for Flexible Sheets, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide improved means for binding tissue or triplicate copy sheets in the cover of the holder of the book to the end that regardless of the thickness of the book of sales slips, the tissue sheets will always be of sufficient length to extend across the sales slips.
The invention consists generally in a book cover, a bracket secured thereto, and a clamping device for holding the triplicate sheet book in the bracket.

Fig. 3 is a detail sectional view on a section line at right angles substantially to the section line of Fig. 2.
In the drawing, 2 represents the cover of the book, and 3 the duplicate sales slips secured at one end by suitable means, .such as the binder 1. These sales slips are folded to provide an original and a duplicate, the usual carbon sheet being inserted between them. The carbon copy of the sales slip is torn off and given to the customer by the clerk making the sale, and the original goes to the oflice. It is desirable to provide, in addition to these original and duplicate sheets, a book of tissue sheets 5 to enable the clerk to make a third or triplicate-copy of the sales slip to retain in his book as a check in case the original slip is lost in the oflice or for the purpose of verifying his daily sales.
With this end in view I provide a bar 6, preferably of sheet metal, and curved in cross section, as indicated in Fig. 3. At each end this bar is provided with an ofi'- set portion 7 having a foot piece 8 that is secured to the back of the holder by rivets 9'or other suitable means. Each foot piece has an upward extension 10 provided with a slot or recess 11 that is opposite the bar 6 and on a level substantially therewith. A locking bar 12, also preferably curved in cross section, is arranged to cooperate with the bar 6 and clamp the bound edges of the tissue book 5 between them, the edges of the bars gripping the tissue sheets securely and holding them firmly in place. One end of the bar 12 has a loop 13 that is slidable in one of the slots 11 and the other end of the bar 12 has a tongue 14 that is adapted to slide in the other slot at the opposite end of the locking bar. This bar 12 is composed of spring material and the tongue 14 may be bent slightly, as indicated in Fig. 2, so that when it enters the slot 11 the bar will grip the tissue book 5 and hold it securely While the book is in use. Whenever desired, the tongue 14 may be withdrawn from its slot and the tissue book will then be released and a new book may be placed in the holder.
I have shown this invention for use in connection with a manifold book in which a triplicate as well as a duplicate of the sales slip is made. It will be understood, however, that the clamp or holder may be utilized with a book for making duplicate sales alone.
In various ways the details of construe-- tion herein shown and described may be modified and still be within the scope of my invention.
I claim as my invention:
1. A holder for flexible sheets comprising a bar having a raised middle portion provided with offsets at its ends forming feet, said feet having upwardly turned portions provided with slots therein, a locking bar having end portions fitting within and slidable in said slots and adapted to clamp flexible sheets on the raised portion of said bar.
2. A holder for flexible sheets comprising a bar having a raised middle portion and downwardly turned portions terminating in upwardly projecting ends having slots therein, the middle portion of said bar forming a seat for a triplicate sales book, a locking bar mounted for longitudinal movement in the slot of one of said ends and having meansfor entering the slot in the other end, the middle portion of said locking bar and said seat being curved in cross section to pro?
