Patented Sept. 18,1917.

' MITT.
State ofMinnescta, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Mitts, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in hand coverings and has for its object to provide means whereby a. mitt may be quickly adjusted to the hand or'removed therefrom.
Another object of the invention is to provide means whereby mitts may be held in proper place, for instant use.
VVith the above and other objects in View I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1, is a view showing the application of my invention, and I Fig. 2, is a plan View of the device.
Like reference characters desigr c like parts throughout the several viewsm which 1, and 2, are right hand mitts connected by a tape ,8, and 4 and 5,are left hand mitts maybe tiedor otherwise fastened around the Waist of the wearer 8. 0n the belt 7, is a pair of loops 9 and 10, whichhold rings 11 and 12, connected to said belt 7. The loops 9 and 10, are slidable on the belt whereby the wearer may adjust their loca-. tion to any desired position relative to her body. The tape 3, passes slidably through the ring 11, and the tape 6, passes slidably through the ring 12.
. With the exception that certain ot-tlie mitts are for the right hand and others for the left hand, the mitts are similar'in construction, and consist of front central, por tions 13, and rear portions 14- and thumbs 15. The mitts are made of a .nomondncting material so to be heatresisting.
lhave found that in cooking, it often necessary to remove an article instantly from the stove, in order to prevent it be coming burned or over-cooked, and this invention is the result of my various experiments in my efforts to produce a SiblSfiC- tory article for this purpose. My object in providing 'tWomitts for each hand connected by tapes is that when in using'mitt A, mitt B, is drawn to a position adjacent the Waist, and when the mitt A, isdropped from the hand, and it becomes again neces-' sary'to use a mitt, the mitt B, is in such a I cure by Letters Patent is 'nected with the body of the carried.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Sept, 18, 1917 Application filed June 22, 1914. Serial No. 846,496.
position that the hand may be instantly thrust into it. In using mitt B, Whenthe arm is thrust out to pick up an article thedrayving of the tape 3, pulls the Initt'A, again into position, for use at thewaist.
Having thus described my invention, that which I claim to be new and desire to pro-' 1. The described device consisting of a pair of right hand mitts connected by a tape, and means for holding said tape conperson.
2. The described device consisting of a pairof right'hand mitts connected by'a tape, and means -for'holding said tape connected with the body of the person, said means consisting of a belt, and a loop for connecting said mitts to said belt. T
The described device consisting of a pair 01? right hand mitts connected by a person, sald means consisting of a belt, and a loop for connecting said tape -to said belt, said loop being slidable onsaid belt.
tape, and means for holding saidtape 'connccted with the body of the tape, and means for holding said tape c0nnected with the body of the person, said means consisting of a belt, a loop for connecting said mitts to said belt, said loop being slidable on said belt, and a ring held by said loop through which saidtap'e is slidable.
5. A device as described comprising a pair of mitts, a tape connecting sa d mitts,
and body attachable means on which said tape is adjustably mounted. v 8. lb device as described comprising a pair of mitts,'-a belt, and means carried by said belt \vl'aereb'y said mitts may able relatively to said belt.
TVA pair of mitts, means connecting the' mitts and string through which said means is slidable. i 4 j 8. A pair of mitts, meansconnecting-the mitts, a ring through which said means is slidable, and a support for said ring, said support being adjustably mounted.
9,. 'A pair of mitts, means connecting the be adj ustsis mitts, a ring through which said means is sli dable,.'a support for said ring, anda belt 10. A 'belt and rinitts adjust-ably carried "said support is adjustably thereby, said mitts being-arranged in pairs,
and means connecting said pairs, said means being slidably mounted on said belt.
11. A belt and mitts adjustably carried thereby, said mitts being arranged in pairs, and means connecting said pairs, said means being slidable on the belt and adjustable relative to said belt.
12. A belt, mitts and connecting means therefor, the mitts being both for one-hand.
