IMPROVEMENT IN STOVE-PLATFORMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 124,039, dated February 27, 1872.
My invention is a platform for stoves of any kind to stand on, and is made of any kind of metal, and fixed upon a board or frame. This metal platform is made with raised edges or sunken center, so that a stove may not be shoved off from it, and the corners have fastenings secured by screws. These fastenings are made so that they hook on over the top of the metal and under the board or frame on which the metal is secured, and holding the turned edges of the metal securely to the board or frame.

Geneml Description. A is the sunken part of the body of the metal portion of the platform B, the raised edges 5 U, the fastenings; D, the screws which secure the fastenings in position; E, the wooden part of the platform. The metal portion of the platform is spun out or cast, and the edges raised and turned over and under the wood portion, and the fastenings are made so that they hook on over the corners, holding the metal down, and also hook on under the metal, and with the screw D hold the metal portion secure to the wood-work of the platform. A stove standing on this platform cannot slip off, but the raised edge B keeps it in place.
