To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE MAunlcn- WRIGHT, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and resident of Marconi House, Strand, London, England, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Valve-Receivers for Wireless Signals, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to receivers of wire less slgnals which comprise a vacuous vessel containing a heated filament, a grid and an anode.
According to this invention I employ two gridsbetween the filament and the anode. By this means I am enabled to limit the strength-0f the current in the anode circuit.
One important result. of this will'bethat the sounds caused by atmospherics in a telephone will be reduced and will thus be prevented fromoverpowering the sounds caused by the signals which it is desired to detect.
My invention is'illustrated by the accompanying drawings, Figure l of which is. a diagram of the circuits of a receiver for wireless signals. Fig. 2 shows the construc tion of the vacuum tube with the ,fine and coarse mesh screens located between the filament and anode.

3. y A vacuous tube containing a heated filament, a grid of coarse mesh, a second grld of fine mesh disposed between the first mentioned grid and the filament, an anode, an oscillatory circuit connected to the filament and the coarse mesh grid, and a second oscillatory circuit containing a high potential battery, connected to the fine mesh grid and to the anode, the two circuits-being inductively coupled exterior of said tube.

electrically connected to each other through a battery shunted by a resistance.
