While I 'have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carryin my invention into eil`ect,'this is capable o variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish tor be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope ofthe ap ded-claims aving described my invention what I claim as ,new and desire to secure'by Letters Patent is:

1. A fuse comprisin a tube; a metallic band around one end o said tube, said band being -provided atV one side with a projection extending partly across the end of said tube; a closure p latc arran ed to it under said projection and provide with means for securin it to said band; a fusible member in said tu electrically connected at the cor- 'nding end with said band; and means for eii'ectin electrical connection with the other endo said fusible member, substantially'as described'. 2. .A fuse comprisin a tube;"a metallic band around one end o said tube, saidband being' exten g partly across the end of sai tube;
