To all whom t may concern.' Be it known that MrCHAEL Morne, subject of the Emperor of Austria, residing at Chester, in the county. of Delaware and State of Pennsylvania, has invented certain new and useful improvements in Aerial Bombs, of which the following is ey speci# fication. y

The object o' the invention is to provide a bomb of this4 haracter in which the exact. moment ofexp osio'n oi the charge may be in which the destructive results from the explosion shell be utilized to their highest extent.
A further object is to eliminate. the ernploymel'lt of n. rudder or other steering; mechanism of the usuel type, and vin lien thereof to cause the propeller to perform the f functions oli-a. driver, stabilizer and rudder.
With the above and. other objects in view, as will appear as the nature of the invention isto .be understood, the same consists, generally stated, in an aerial bomb embodyingl a shell casino"` adapted to contain, in
separate compartments the explosive charge and the shrepnel, certain of the compartments being in f communication whereby when the primer or csp is exploded, the ignition and thus explosion of the various explosives will follow in step-bystep order, but practically instantaneously so that shell will be rent from end to end, 'thereby lib-n erating the shrapnel, and causing them to beseettered in lall directions.
'.'Another feature of the invention is the propelling means whichvconsists of an ordinary propeller driven by a suitable motor, thev shaft of the propeller being disposed eccentric togthe longitudinal exis of the shell whereby the shell will be maintained in` a predetermined position, and will be vprevented from being turned on its axis due to'frotation.
