The object of this invention is to provide I a game of the type played by two persons, each being provided with a foil or stick on which is carried a playing block or member, the object of the game being for a player to dislodge the block from his opponents foil without dislodging his own.

A further object of the invention is to provide a cord or flexible connector by which the block may be connected to the foil whereby when it is dislodged therefrom it may be readily recovered and replaced.

A still further object of the invention is to provide on either the supporting face of the foil or the resting face of the playing block or both with a suitable material which will cause the block to adhere slightly thereto and so prevent the block from being too readily dislodged.

The invention further consists in providing a distinguishing feature in each of the blocks whereby each individual player will recognize his own after having been dislodged during the play.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, as will be more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

Figure 1- is a perspective view showing the two foils in the hands of the players.

Fig. 2- is a perspective view illustrating a foil as. provided with a covering of material which would cause the playing block to adhere more closely thereto; also showing the playing block as attached to the foil by means of a cord or other connector.

Figs. 3 and 4' represent elevation and plan View respectively of the player block showing the bottom portion of the block as covered with a rough or adhesive material.

Referring to the drawings, 10 designates the foil member of the game, which may be constructed in any desired form and of any suitable material. The foils shown are elongated sticks or bars preferably constructed of wood each having an elongated body portion 11 ofany suitable length with an enlarged end portion 12, which is formed with a flattened upper surface on which the playing block, presently described, may rest. The opposite end of this body portion is formed in the shape of a handle 13 which is grasped by the hand of the player.

A playing block 14 may be made of any suitable material and in any desired shape, but for convenience in playing, I have formed the same of wood and the shape of half a disk. This block is provided with a flat lower face 15 adapted to rest upon the enlarged fiat face 12 of the foil.

In some instances when the bare face of the block rests upon that of the foil, it is found to be too easy to dislodge the block, for the best interests of the game, therefore to cause the block to adhere a little more closely to the surface of the foil to prevent its being dislodged so readily, I have covered the supporting face 16 of the foil with a rough faced material such as sand paper, felt or other suitable material which will cause the block to adhere more closely thereto.

Then again in other cases I also cover the bottom of the block with a similar or different material which cooperating with that on the foil, will further prevent the too ready dislodgment of the playing block.

Inasmuch as the score of the game may be reckoned by the first block to be dislodged and also by the distance the blocks are thrown, it is found to be of advantage to distinguish these different blocks by colors,

shape or other distinguishing marks or features whereby each player may readily recognize his own, and the referee may distinguish between them.

Then again in some instances it is found desirable to attach the playing block to the foil by a cord 17 or other flexible connecting member, whereby the block may be readily recovered and replaced after having been dislodged from the foil.

Having thus described one illustrative embodiment of my invention I desire it to be understood that although specific terms are employed they are used in a generic and descriptive sense and not for the purpose of limitation, the scope of the invention being defined by the appended claims.

I claim:

1 A game comprising a pair of foils each provided with a player block supporting area near its end, and aplayer block for each foll shaped on one of its faces to rest upon said supportlng area whereby 1t may be readily dislodged therefrom.

2. A game comprising a pair of foils each provided with a player block supporting area near its end, and a player block for each foil shaped on one of its faces to rest upon said supporting area whereby it may be readily dislodged therefrom, and means for causing the block to adhere somewhat to the surface of the foil.

3. A game comprising a pair of foils each provided with a flat area near its end "for supporting a player block, and a player block for each foil shaped on one of its faces to rest upon said area whereby it may be readily dislodged therefrom, and a flexible connector for loosely attaching each block to its foil.

4. A game comprising a pair of foils each having a long slim body portion with an enlarged head having a fiat supporting surface, a playing block for said face also provided with a flat surface to rest upon that of the foil whereby the block may be readily dislodged therefrom, and means in said block for distinguishing them one from the other.
