Be it known that we, GIOVANNI FRAN- CHINI, a subject of the King of Italy, and CARLO ARTOLOMEE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of San Francisco and'State of California, have lnvented new and useful Improvements in eleasing Devices, of which the following is a specification.

One of the objects of the present invensubstantial, cheaply manufactured, easily operated re.- leasing device whereby the halter ropes attaohed to horses or: cattle in one or more stalls may be simultaneously released. Further objects will hereinafter appear.

Referring in detail to the drawings, A ininterposed a coil spring 7. This spring is provided for the purpose of normally holding the bolt in the position shown in Fig. 1 known as lockedposition.

Formed on the casing A and integral with lug 4 is a pair of bracing ribs 8, arranged one on each side of the bolt, and also formed integral with lug 2 is a bracing rib he rib 9 not only forms a brace for the lug 2 but also an extension or guide for the reduced end of the bolt 5. It, furthermore, serves as a support for one end of a cover such as shown in 10, the opposite end of which is supported by the ribs 8 and is secured in position by screws 11.

The provision of the cable 22, between the clamp and the bolt, permits any individual bolt to be retracted without afiecting the others. It is thus possible to release animals singly or severally. While two stalls are here shown, it is obvious that any number may be connected and equipped as shown, and that while a lever 19 has been providedfor the purpose of moving the cable, it is obvious that this may be automatically operated by an electric control or in any other .manner desire The device as a whole is substantial in construction and is so cheaply manufactured that it may be installed by practically anyone, and is so simple in construction that it will never get out of order.

The materials and finish of the several parts of the device are such as the experience and judgment of the manufacturer may dictate.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1s In a releasing device, a casing having compartments,a spring pressed bolt operating in the casing and having an eye extending beyond an end of-the casing, a flexible cable positioned above the top of the casing, a bracket member having a substantially wide upper en doubled upon itself to form an eye and having its'terminal seated on one o the faces of said member, said bracket eye receiving the flexible cable, screws passed through the eye terminal and body of the bracket member, the lower end of the bracket extending downwardly and having a perforation disposed at a point in the same'hori- Zontal plane with the bolt, a flexible cable secured in the perforation of the bracket and in the eye of the bolt, and a keeper in one o the compartments having an opening adapted to receive the other end of the bolt.
