To the receptacle is connected an operating line 21 which passes over a guide pulley 22 mounted on the under side of the table top and is connected to a hand lever 23 provided with a suitable locking device 24, which latter may be in the form of a toothed segment as shown. When the pins are standing erect, the Weight 2O rests in the receptacle 19, the lines 17 being slack so that the pins may be knocked do-wn when struck by the ball.

- To set the pins, the receptacle 19 is dropped slightly by operating the hand lever 23, whereupon the weight drops and pulls the lines 17 taut, and thereby sets the pins upright again. After the pins have been set, the receptacle is elevated to raise the weight and thus slacken the lines 17.

l claim:

1. A gaine table comprising a top which is inclined toward its head-end and has alleysl along its opposite longitudinal edges, said table top also having channels extending along the alleys on the inside thereof and a cross-channel connecting said channels at the foot of the table top, said crosschannel having an outlet, and a curved wall extending between the alleys near the headend of the table top.

3. A gaine table comprising a top which is inclined toward its head-end and has alleys along its opposite longitudinal edges, said `table top also having channels extending along the alleys on the inside thereof and a cross-channel connecting said channels at the foot of the table top, said crosschannel having an outlet, a curved wall extending between the alleys near the head-end of the table top, and a pin field at the footend of the table, the head-end of the table having a depression which is in longitudinal alineinent with the center of the pin field.
