Description

METHOD FOR OBTAINING PURE WATER FROM SALT WATER. APPLICATION FILED JULY I. 1913.
1 2%,, II 11 8o Patented May 8, 191?.
I I 3 22:, I g G: 1.. I EZ Z 1 531 T Jfli; .4 5; w Ffg l I Hi I I I I 41'7 I 1- wwzwtoz JMMZTW but no salt, and finally condensing the last named vapor.
3. The method described for obtaining pure water from salt water in a state of agitation, which consists in first subjecting such salt Water in a closed vessel to the action of sufiioient heat to set free a vapor containing water and a small percentage of salt, then subjecting said vapor so derived in a closed vessel to a very much higher temperature to set free a second vapor containing water but no salt, and finally condensing the last named watery vapor.
4. The method described for vobtaining pure water from salt water in a "state of agitation, which consists in evapdrating salt water by heat to obtain a watery gvapor containing a small percentage of salt, then superheating the vapor so derived under conditions where no water is present as abo'dy, and finally condensing the superheated vapor to obtain pure Water.
5. The method described for obtaining pure water from salt water in a state of agitation, which consists in introducing a body of salt water into a vessel and therein subjecting suchsalt water to the action of heat transmitted through the water from a coil through which steam is passed, conveying the vapor thus derived from such vessel to a second vessel, and therein subjecting such vapor to the action of heat transmitted through the vapor from a coil through which steamof higher temperature is passed, whereby such vapor is expanded to form a second vapor and the salt separated therefr'om5-condensing the last named vapor to form fresh water, and removing the deposited salt from time to time.
In testimony whereof, I afiix my signature, in the presence of two Witnesses.
