My invention relates to a pendent clothesdrier, suspended by elasticcords or other suitable Springs in such a niannerthat the said drier may be drawn down to admit of the clothes being placed upon the same, the elastic cords or springs yielding suiiciently therefor, and when released contracting' so as to raise the clothes and drier up a Suflicient height to allow free passage beneath the same.

Thus constructed, my apparatus is peculiar- Iyadapted to the airing and drying of clothes near the ceiling of a room, Where the articles are out Of the Way, and, at the same time, kept in the warmest stratum of air.
