ings; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to' which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention relates to improvements in switch blocks and casings such as that shown and de cribed in our copending application filed May iii 3.915, Serial Number 28,197.
The object of the present invention is to provide a switch block of the character aforesaid wherein a more positive contact Will be made between the switch members and the device will be more simple, durable and eiiicient in construction and operation and one which will have less parts, reducing the cost of manufacture thereof and making the article of more commercial value.
A further object of'the invention is to provide a fool-proof casing for switch blocks of this character wherein only authorized persons are permitted to gain access to the interior thereof and a slidable door for the said casing which automatically controls the switch whereby when the said door is opened the switch will be opened and when the door is entirely closed the switch is closed to establish .the circuit.
With the above and other objects in view which will hereinafter appear as the description continues, the invention consists of the novel features of construction and the formation of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and. particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawings is shown a simple and preferred form ofthe invention it being, however, understood that no limitation is necessarily made to the precise structural details herein exhibited but the right is hereby reserved to any changes or alterations that may be made that come within the scope of the invention without departing from the spirit thereof or sacrificin. he etilciency of the same.

.teferring now more particularly to the drawings wherein like and corresponding parts are designated by similar reference characters throughout the several views- The block 1 is of approximately rectangular configuration mad of porcelain or other suitable insulating material. Arranged at one end of the block is a raised portion 2 having a pair of threaded sockets 3 formed plan view of one of the therein in which are adapted to be placed the fuse plugs for a purpose which will be later described. Extending longitudinally through the base portion of the block 1 are a pair of parallel. extending bores each of which having mounted one end thereof a bushing 3 and these bores having mounted in their opposite ones the bushings/4 and the bushings arranged within each bore .re held in spaced relation with each other thereby providing a spaced portion 5 in each bore. Contacting with each of the bushings 4 is a brass screw 6 to which are connected the Wires 7 and through which the current is supplied from the main line to the connections within the fuse block and subsequently carried to the meter. This meter may be in circuit with a lighting system or any other electrical system arranged Within the house to which current is to be supplied. To hold the rods 16 in positive contact with the bushings 3 we provide leaf springs 18 which are rigidly connected at one end to a sleeve 19 carried by each of the bushings 3 and the opposite or free ends of the leaf springs 18 rest within openings 20'formed within the bushings 8 and press against the rod thereby holding the said rod in positive contact the inner wall of the sleeve 8 From foregoing construction it is also obvious that when the inner ends of the rods 3.6 are within the bushings 3 the circuit will be broken and the inner ends oi. the rods 16 will have to pass through the space 5 within the bores before closing the circuit the circuit will not be closed until the inner ends of the rods l6 engage with the bushings The switch block is adapted to be mounted within a fool-proof cas'ng made of metal or suitable material and is properly insulated therefrom. This casing comprises substa tially a rectangular box 21 having a cover 22 therefor. The wires *4 extend through a bushing 31 formed within one end of the casing 21 whereas the wires 12 project through the side of the casing Q1 and are hidden from view by means of the casing 32 secured to one side of the casing 21. The wires 84 may extend from the meter or from the casing 32 either at the side of the latter as shown within the drawings or from any end thereof. but the casing 82 incloses the wires 13 and the connection between the same and the meter so as to prevent persons from gaining access to the wires 13 after the door 25 has been closed and the switch closed so as to prevent persons from stealing or otherwise taking the current from the wires 13 before it has passed through-the meter 38. i
