- To all whom it may concern:

Be it known .that I, JACOB W. JAooBsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hancock, in the county ,of 'Houghton-and Stateof Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Soap-Dispensers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to soap dispensers and has particular reference to a device of the character disclosedin Patent 1,186,200 issued to me on June 6, 1916, although the present invention is susceptible for use in connection with other forms of dispensing devices.

The chief characteristic of thisinvention resides in the-provision of means adapted to accommodate the dispensing device with a view of supporting the same upon a wall or other support.

More specifically stated the means for supporting the dispensing device embodies a casing adapted to receive the dispenser, and provided with a cover which cooperates with the casing to contract the upper end thereof about the dispenser with a view of holding the latter fixed relatively to the supporting means.

Referring to the drawings in detail, my

invention comprises a bracket'A which is formed of any suitable metal'and which is substantially L-shapedin cross section, the vertical section of the bracket being provided with openings to receive fastenin members whereby the same may be secured upon the wall. The opposite ends of the horizontalportion of the bracket A are provided with circular recesses 1 which are adapted to receive and hold tooth brushes.

The medialportion of the horizontal portion of the bracket A is provided with cirof the bracket lower end of the container perforated bottom wall 3 while its upper end is provided with a laterally extending flange 4. which is adapted to engage the upper face of the, horizontal portion of the bracket A to support the holders within the openings. Tolock the holders B within the its ends closed by the openings 3, the body of each of the holders 1s split-longitudinally at regular spaced intervals as at 5 and are slightly bent outwardly so as to resiliently hold the holders within the walls of the openings as will be understood. The forward longitudinal edge is of arcuate shaped formation as at 6 to receive the cylindrical casing C, the latter being rigidly secured to the bracket by means of rivets or the like.

The casing C. is formed of any suitable material and has its upper and lower ends open, the lower end being provided with an inturned circumferentially extendlng flange 7 while the upper end is split vertically at regular spaced intervals as at 8, .the split portions being inclined inwardly as is clearly shown in the drawings. The Y casing C is. threaded exteriorly adjacent its upper end to receive the cover D, the cover having its engaging flange 9 tapered outwardly so as to force the split portions 8' of the casing inwardly when the cover is applied thereto, The cover in this instance is centrally provided upon its upper face with a cup holder 10 which is of any sultable construction and is secured to the cover by means of a rivet 11.

The ejecting 'member F as previously stated is substantially of funnel shape, the upper or larger end of the member being provided with an annular posed flange 13 which is exteriorly threaded to engage the threaded interior of the con- It will be noted that the threads of the container are so arranged as to cause the ejecting member to travel upwardly within the container when the member is rotated clockwise. Connected to the inner periphery of the flange 13 are the outer extremities of the radial blades 14 which areof metal and rectangular The inner ends of the blades 14 are connected by an annular hub member 15 which is arran ed concentrically of the funnel as is clear y shown in the drawings. The lower end of the ejectmg member F is elongated and tapered throughout its length and is open to threadedly receive the plug 16, the latter'being provided with a series of longitudinally extending openings 17 which are adapted to communicate with the interior of the funnel as will be understood. Adjacent the lower end, the ejecting member is formed with a concentrically arranged disk 18 which has its periphery milled whereby the operator may readily turn the ejecting member as will be hereinafter described.

In practice, the container is adapted to contain the soap which is inthis instance in the'form of a paste and is provided with a cover 19 whereby the soap may be readily preferably formed transported from place to place. is to be understood that the ejecting memher F forms the lower wall of the container and when the latter is filled with soap, and suspended on the bracket and in the casing within the lowermost part of the container. When it is desired to dispense the soap, the e ecting member F is rotated by means of the disk 18, whereby the member will be vertically dismoved upwardly within the container thereby causing the blades 1a to rotate and loosen or dislodge the soap within the container, the blades being so arranged as to cause the soap to be directed to the open end of the funnel member as will be understood. The paste will then pass downwardly within the unnel and will be ejected out through the opening 17 of the plug 16. ()wing to the adhesive property of the paste soap, the soap will adhere to the surface of the plug 16 whereby the accidental dropping of the same will be prevented. The soap may then be removed from the plug by the operator as will be understood. It will be noted that by normally carrying the soap paste within the container E and inserting the container within the casing as has been described, the

soap will not be exposed to contamination by dust or other foreign-matter thus securing a soap which is perfectly clean in every particular, and furthermore that the soap or paste will always be kept'fresh thus preventing the same from hardening. By providing the ejecting member with the radially extending blades 14, I have provided positive means for loosening the paste and at the same time directing the paste into the end of the ejecting member. j

- It is thought from the foregoing taken in connection with the accompanying drawings that the construction and operation of my device will be apparent to those skilled in the art without further description, and that changes in size, shape, proportion and minor details of construction may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the appended claim.

What I claim is The combination with a soap dispenser embodying a receptacle, and an ejector adjustably mounted in said receptacle, of a casing, adapted to receive said receptacle with the ejector projecting through an enlarged opening in the bottom thereof, said receptacle resting upon the flange constituting the bottom of the casing, the opposite end of the casing being slit at spaced intervals, and a cover for the casing, said cover being designed to bring the separated portions of the casing defined by said slits, into engagement with the receptacle 'to hold the latter fixed relatively to the casing.
