Description

V G. H. ZSCHECH.
Improvement in T hr eshing Machines.
Patented Dec. 26, 1871.
1 3 game 1 INVENTOR Wu (I UNITED STATES GUSTAVUS H. ZSUHEOH, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
\MRROVEMENT IN THRASHlNG-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,303, dated December 26, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUSTAVUS H. Zscnmcn, of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State .of Indiana, have invented a new and valuable Y longitudinal section through the line a b. I
This invention has relation to thrashing-machines; and the novelty consists in the construction and novel arrangement of devices for adj usting the grain-grate and concave apron, as hereinafter described. r
In the accompanying drawing, A A represents that part of the frame of a thrashing-machine to which my improvements are applied. 0 represents the concave apron,'and D, the grain-grate,
of the usual form. E E are side arms, to which the apron and grate are secured. Said arms are pivoted to the sides of the frame by means of pins F, and are bent down in front to form eyes for the reception of the ends of levers G G. The latter are of the curved form shown, and are fulcrumed on pins I I. Their outer ends are forked, and coupled, respectively, to the outer or bent ends of the arms E. The inner ends of the levers G are pivoted to the double forked or slotted head-piece H, holding a set-screw, J, which works through a screw bracket, K, and is furnished at its lower end with a hand-wheel, L, to turn it by.
The apron and grate are adjusted to the cylinder of the thrashing-machine, through the me dium of the levers G G, operated by turning the Wheel L.
I claim as my invention- The levers G G, adjusting screw J, and hinged arms E, in combination with the apron- C and grate D of a thrashing-machine, constructed and arranged to operate as described, and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above- I have hereunto subscribed'my name in the presence of WM. SULLIVAN. (159)-
