of North Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game-Boards;

and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art towhich it appertains to make and use the same.

The primary object ofthis invention is to improve that type of ame board whlch employs a rotating disk aving a series of characters thereon, said disks being adapted to be stopped at different characters asindicated, by providin a board which can be manufactured cheap y, will be durable, expeditiously assembled, and which can be conveniently rotated and when stopped Wlll have the character at which the indicator points, concealed from view and adapted to be exposed only by the operator of the board.

A further object of the invention 1s to provide a game board of the type above mentioned, which will admit of the substitution of different characters, so that a large number of difierent games can be played thereon.

Other objects will appear and be better understood from that embodiment of m invention of which the following is a speci cation, reference being-had to the accompanying drawings forming a part thereof, in

The upper side of the disk .5 has mounted thereon, a circumferential series of vertically projecting pins 11, the said pins being arranged in spaced relation, as is shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. Each of these disks has a central squared opening therein, which is adapted to receive the squared portion 9 on the stem 8, and the said disks are adapted to be so positioned on the disk 5, that the characters will register with the spaces between the pins 11, as shown in Fig. 1, so that when the disk 5 comes to rest,,after being rotated, one of the characters will be designated by the indicator 12, so as to give the person who rotated the disk, a certain standing in the game, which is being played.

The top-piece or layer 2 is provided with a marginal frame, which is vformed of the longitudinal strips 1717, and the opposite end pieces 18-18. A substantially rectangular shaped shield 19 is mounted on the top layer 2 at a point above the indicating arm 12, and has a portion extending across and covering a portion of the rotary disk 5, asshown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawin The shield 19 has formed therein a sig t opening 20, which opening 20' is shown in dotted lines in Figs. 1 and 3 of the drawings, and is locatedvabove the path of rotation of the characters on the card-board disks 15. A swinging shutter, designated 21, is-pivoted as at 22, to the shield 19, and is adapted to he slid over the opening 20, during the rotation-of the disk 5, so that when the disk 5 comes to rest, the character which is designated by the arm 12, will be concealed fromfviewand will not be exposed until the operator moves the shutter 21 to open position, thereby allowing the character at which the indicating arm points, to

A game of the class described comprising a rectangular base having an enlarged cirst'ance, the game of base ball, the disksvided with an annular groove rotatably mounted in the recess and the groove of the disk alining with the groove in the bottom wall of the recess, said disk provided with a squared opening centrally thereof, registering with the central opening of the recess in the base, a plurality of ball bearings arranged in the annular grooves of the recess and face to permit the disk to freely rotate therein, an operating handle associated with the disk including a stem provided with an upper squared portion and a lower cylindrical portion, the squared portion of the stem being fitted in the squared opening of the disk, and the cylindrical portion journaled in the opening in the recess thus upon the rotating of the handle, the disk will be rotated in the recess of the base, said hearing preventing the binding of the disk in pins, and for the purpose specified.
