To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that WQpHAIKRY ll. Lananm and BURTON B. Bonus, citizens of the United States, residents of'Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have jointly invented certain new anduseful Improvements in a Combined Luncheon and Garry ing Case; and we do hereby declare that. t e following description of our said invention, taken in connection with the accompanying sheets of drawings, form a full, clear, and exact specification, which will enable others skilled in the art to which our said invention a p )ertains to. make and-.usethe same.
, 'lhe object of this invention is the production of a very eliicient and serviceable lun'clr eon and Carr. ing case, which, when not in usea's a luncheon case, may be readily con ,verted into a suit, or other carrying case. While this casehas been designed particularly for use in an automobile, for carrying lunch for the occupants thereof, it is,'however, capable of being I gous' purposes, such ascarrying lunch for picnic parties, excursions, etc.
In the drawings already referred'to, which serve to illustrate our invention more fully,
and which form' a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a sectional elevation on line 1T1, of Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is aplan of the case in open condition. Fig. 3 is a' sectional 'elevation on line 3-3 of Fig. 2, the parts contained in the luncheon case havin been removed to show the condition 0 [the case when suitable for a suit case.
, A, in these drawings designates the lower part of he carryin "ease, and B, the upper art or cover for .t e same, these two parts ing hinged to. each, other byhinges 12, in any convenient manner. The lower section of this carrying case is rabbeted along its upper edge, as at 13, and the upper section or cover has its.-lower ed es 14,'c onstructed to engage said rabbets, t ereby afl'ording a closed joint at'the adjacent parts and reventin'g dust from entering the case w on in closed condition. -A suitable lock 15, is provided for on thelowersection A, and a coactin catch 16, on the cover B, afford means or locking the case, while a suitable handle or 'grip 17, enables the case being conveniently carried about.
