FISH-SEINE FABRIC.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FERNANDO G. MILLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fort Myers, in the county of Lee and State of Florida, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fish-Seine Fabrics: and I do hereby declare thefollowing to be a full. clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new and useful im n'ovements in seine fabric and has for its ob]ect the provision of a device of the above character which may be constructed of metal. and thereby renderthe same substantially indestructible.

Another object of my invention is the provision of such a device which will be so constructed as to retain its flexibility, thereby permitting it to be folded into substantially.

the same space as would be occupied by the ordinary type of seine. v

A still further object of my invention is the provision of a device which will materially lighten the construction of seines and render them more easily handled.

\Vith the above and other objects in view I now proceed to describe my invention in the following specification and accompany-- ing drawings, in which,

Figure 1 is a plan view of a portion of my improved seine fabric showing the method of construction,

Fig. 2 is a detail perspective view of one of the links which connect the rings showing the method of construction, and

Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2, showing the link on the opposite side.

Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, 1 indicates the rings used in the construction of my improved seine fabric which are formed of any suitable metal and are preferably jointless, thereby eliminating the danger of breaking. The material from 1 are formed is preferably circular in cross-section, as is clearly illustrated in the drawings.

which is bent back as at 7 to form thehook' members illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3 of the drawings. These hook 'members are arranged to lie parallel with each other and in juxtaposition to form one end ofthe ova-l links by means of which the rings are connected together. The ends of the hook members are secured by means of a drop of solder designated by the numeral 3 or in any other suitable manner, but it is to be understood that when so desired, these ends may be left free in order that additional rings may be placed in the oval links in order that the nets may be adjusted to different sizes.

It will be clearly seen that in forming my improved seinem this way the device is substantially indestructible, inasmuch as the a seine of the ordinary character in repair.

When it is desired that the seine beinthereby considerably dea creased in size a section formed in the same manner may be placed in position and owing to the peculiar shape of the links the rings at the edge of the seine may be connected to the links at the edge of the attachable seine, as will be obvious scription. The links -forming the edge of the auxiliary seine are therefore left unsoldered or unwelded in order that the end rings may be slipped therebetween.

It is to be understood that the construction of the seine fabric described in the foregoing specification may be used for all types of nets, traps, or set devices of any kind, which are at present in use by fishermen.

It is to be understood further that the spe-- cific construction of the rings may be changed to suit the necessities of the user and it may be deemed expedient to make said rings either hexagonal or octagonal.

While in the foregoing I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, I wish it to be understood that I may change the specific arrangement of parts without in any wayl departing from the spirit and scope of my invention.

What I claim is A net comprising a plurality of circular bands or rings, a plurality of elongated oval connecting links, the body of the rings being movable in the links to increase the flexifrom the foregoing debility of the net when assembled, each of said rings being movable independently of the net of the adjacent oval connecting links, 5 oval connectlng links placement of the rings and the ends of the being rigidly secured to the body thereof to prevent accidental distherefrom.
