lVhile there has been shown and described herein fingers Which resiliently grasp the pipe it will be understood that any means for obtaining this pressure against the pipe may be employed, and I'do not therefore limit the structure to this resilient featureas contained in the spring fingers alone.
I claim- 3 1. A ceiling plate including two sections arranged'to encircle a pipe,- each of the sec em jit ssential to'the loo 7 tions having a flap overturned fro1nits inner edge near its end, a stud projecting from the end of each section at a point opposite the bend of said flap, and a projecting tongue from the end of each section near its inner edge positioned to pass between the curved overturned edge of the flap and said stud.
2. A ceiling plate including two sections of semicircular form arranged to encircle a pipe, said sections having flaps bent in opposite directions -from opposite inner edges near the ends thereof, said flaps extending toward the outer edge of each section, and a tongue projecting from the end of each section near the inner edge thereof in position to pass underneath said overturned flaps and limit relative lateral 1110661118111) of said sections by engagement with the bent edges of said flaps.
3. A ceiling plate including two sections arranged to encircle a pipe, one of the sections having an overturned flap forming a recess, a tongue on the opposite section arranged to pass into said recess and having a locking notch, and a stud upon the opposite section arranged to engage said notch to hold the sections in locked engagement.
4. A ceiling plate including two sections arranged to encircle a pipe, one of the sections having an overturned resilient fiap forming a recess, a tongue on the opposite section arranged to pass into said recess, said tongue having a locking notch, a looking stud arranged to engage said notch, and means upon the sections to resiliently hold the parts in locked engagement.

A ceiling plate including two sections arranged to encircle a pipe, one of the sections having an overturned flap forming a recess, a tongue upon the other section located to pass into said recess, said tongue having a locking slot, a locking stud upon the, opposite section arranged to engage the locking slot, and a spring finger positioned upon the sections to oppose movement of the sections to disengage said stud "from said slot. 7 A ceiling plate including two sections arranged to encircle a pipe, each of the sections having on one end a loop open on one side, a tongue projecting from the opposite end of each section to engage a loop on the opposite section and spring fingers projecting from each of the sections and located to yieldingly resist movement of the sections in a direction to move a tongue out of the open side of its engaging loop.
8. A ceiling plate including two sections arranged to encircle a pipe, one of? the sections having a flap overturned. from the metal originally composing the center of the plate and forming a recess and the other a tongue arranged to pass into said recess and limit relative lateral movement of said sections by engagement with the bent edges of said flaps, meansupon the sections for holding them in locked engagement, and means for resiliently resisting movement of the sections to unlock them.
9. A ceiling plate including two sections duplicates each of the other and each having a socket at one end and a tongue at the other end arranged to pass into said socket and therebylimit the lateral movement of the sections one with respect to the other, and means for holding the sections in locked engagement.
10. A ceiling plate including two sections duplicates each of the other and each having at one end a socket formed by a flap overturned from the metal originally composing the center of the plate and the opposite end of each sectionhaving a tongue adapted to enter the socket formed by said overturned flap and thereby limit the lateral movement of the sections one with respect to the other.
