Be it known that I, JOHN A. Pn'rnm, a citizen of the United States, residing :at i New Haven, inthecounty of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Electric' Hand-Mirrors; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings'constitute' part of this application, and represent, in

In carrying out my invention asherein shown, I employ a circular mirrorlate 2 the beveled edge of which is inserte into a v tube-like binding-ring 3 which in turn is set into the open front of a circular, shallow, cup-like mirror back 4 provided with a tubular handle '5 the upper end of which is cut away-in front to .form' a deep recess 6 adjacent to the center of the lower edge of the mirror-plate 2, to receive the reflector -7 the inclined bottom of which is formed with a threaded socket 8 for the reception of a small incandescent lamp bulb 9 which is slightly tilted forward from the vertical plane of the mirror. The mirror-back 4 is located in the plane of its tubular handle 5, and the lower edge ofthe mirror-plate 2 located entirely above the upper edge of the recess 6 and the reflector 7 which latter- -is located so far back in the recess 6 in'the front of the handle 5, as torpermit the lamp to be protected against injury and to shade" I the mirror into which the lamp, when so located, cannot directly shine.
