Only one operation, the turning of a valve, is required to set the mechanism for charging with metal; and a second operation, the turning or other place of use.
Vhile I have described in detail a mechanism suitable for carrying out the purpose of this invention, it is obvious that other equivalent mechanical devices may be employed, and that instead ofemployin-g a hydraulic operating mechanism, the lever system may' be operated by any other power,
-such as steam or electricity or by hand; and
further that whilemy invention is intendwith molten metals, it is applicable for use with other materials at high temperatures.

9. In a casting machine, the combination with a casting-pot of a closure therefor, a rotatable discharge pipe mounted in said pot, a pump, a conduit connecting the pump and pot, and mechanism connected and arranged to coincidently operate the discharge pipe and pump.
