W. T. GARRETT.
' LUBRIGA'I'OB.
No. 121,611. H I Patented D6115, 18'71.
UNITED STATES WILLIAM T. GARRATT, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN LUBRICATORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 121,611, dated December 5, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I WILLIAM T. GARRATT, of San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco, and State of California, have invented anew and Improved Lubricator; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification. V
This invention relates to improvements in oilers; and it consists in the application to the oilchamber of a steam-heating coil for conveying steam through it to keep it fluid in cold weather; also, to make it available for using suet and the like substances, which will be rendered by the heat.
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of my improved oiler, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A is the oil-holder, and B the coil of pipe arthrongh the stand G to the cylinder.
ranged in it having one end, 0, adapted for connection with the boiler or other steam-supply, and the other end terminating in a cock, D, for regulating the discharge. The oil is to be forced by steam-pressure into the pipe E at F and down The steam will be admitted to the oiler for forcing the oil out in any approved way. H is a'cocl: for drawing off the water, after the oil is exhausted, for filling again. The cap I is removed to fill the oiler through the opening at the top.
Having thus described my invention I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- An oiler for steam-engines, provided with a steam-heating coil having a pipe-connection with the boiler or other steamrsupply and a regulating-cock at the discharge, all substantially as specified.
