Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES A. Fosoron, a citizen of the United States, residing at lieota, in the county of Keokuk, and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Broom-Bridles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

"his invention relates to broom bridles, and the object of the invention is the provision of a simple, durable and practical bridle that can be cheaply manufactured and conveniently associated with a broom head, and when in operative position will effectively reinforce the broom straws, so as to admit of the straws retaining their rigidit y throughout the life of the broom head.

Other objects will appear and be better understood fromv that embodiment of the invention of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part thereof, in which:

As shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing the bridle is formed of a pair of rectangular shaped frames 1 and 2 that are positioned at intersecting planes. Adjacent sides of the frames 1 and 2 are pivotally connected by means of pivot pins 3. The frames 1 and 2 cooperate to provide clamping jaws, which, when the bridle is in operative position on the broom head, crowds the straws forming the broom head so as to increase the rigidity from the broom head.

The frames 1 and 2 provide clamping jaws that will give a maximum clamp ing action and by virtueof the employment of the loops 4, and the provision of the notches 5, the frames 1 and 2 can be held in different clamping positions.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new, is:

-A broom bridle consisting of'a pair of intersecting rectangular shaped relatively movable clamping frames, certain adjacent sides of the frames having pivotal connection with each other, and means adjustably associated with the clamping frames for holding the frames in different clamping po- J.
