Referring to. Fig. 4, the shoulder flapsv formed at theupper and outer corners oi the front or chest flap-are turned over the shoulder so that they will be underneath the upper and outer corners of the shoulder flaps of the back flap as clearly shown in 2, 3 and 4 The outer edges of the shoulder flaps are secured throughout their length to the sleeve on one side of the garment. On the other side of the garment, the outer edge of the upper shoulder flap is left free from a point directly on top of the shoulder as at 20' in Fig. 4., and may come near the center of the shoulder as shown in Fig. 2 or be substantially parallel with the front sleeve seam as shown in Fig. 1.

I preferably turn the back shoulder flaps over. the front shoulder flaps so that the suspende'rs of the wearer will not tend to cause a buckling of either flap, which mi ht be the case should the front shoulder flap e turned over the back shoulder flap.

The outer side edges of the shoulder flaps are either secured b sewing or other suit leave and to each other throughout their length on one side of the garment.

20 and 21 and-the free end of this flip is secured to the front of the garment by button-hole and button as indicated at 23 and 24, or by any other suitable means.

If desired, the to shoulder flap may be left free as indicate in Fig. 4, on both sides of the garment, and suitable means provided to temporarily secure the free ends of the flaps-to the body of the garment.

With my improved construction, when the union suit is adjusted in place upon the body of the wearer, the upper shoulder flaps will rest and bind down upon the lower shoulder flaps, thereby holding the garment secure in place upon t e shoulders of the wearer with out danger of any portion of the garment becoming misplaced. At the same time, these flaps can be pushed aside by the hands leaving a full opening at the upper portion of the permit the wearer to disrobe.

The simplicity of construction and the cheapness at which this garment can be made, as wellas the great comfort afiorded the wearer, renders this garment of great utility.

It is of course within the scope of my in vention to arrange the free flap and place the securing means upon either side of the garment amply sufficient in order to arness garment, that is either on the right or left, as may be convenient to the wearer.

The garment may be made of either woven, knitted or other suitable fabric, and except for the novel features of construction which form my invention, it is made in the usual way; namely the leg portion may be long or short, the arm portions long or short; the leg and arm ends are ribbed andv finished as usual and the border oi the neck and shoulder flaps are finished in the usual manner.

The garment may also be provided with an open and overlapping fly construction and it is provided with the usual substantially longitudinal opening in the seat 7 back flaps, tne'upper corners of said flaps being formed into shoulder portions, the pair of shoulder portions formed from the chest flap extending rearwardly of the horizontal medial line of the shoulder, and the pair of shoulder portions formed from the back Flap extending forwardly of said horizontal line of theshoulder, of the chest and back flaps being free to form both the body and neck openings, one of the shoulder flaps being free.
