Pc it known that I, DANIELV BERNARD SWEENEY, citizen of the United States of America, residing at Bayonne, Hudson county, State of New Jersey, have invented :i new and useful Improvement in Con- V,tinuous Filter-Pressesg and I do hereby dechii'e the following tobe a full, clear, and exact description of the saine.
This invention relates to filters, particw larly devices or nisichines for sel'iarating; solids oi' seini-solids from liquids, and more to machines for separating wett or other hy-products of oils.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, the filter press is shown provided with a. perforated cylindrical casing 5 which may be mede up oflanyconvenient'nuiiibci of Segments', provided Awith 'side ribs 7 and by means of which the sections together as shown, or may loe inged or otherwise secured. In a filter press, the con'ibination of an elongated, perforated cylindrical casing comprisin a plurality of segments and closed at oth ends; a layer of canvas lin ing the cylinder; a wire fabric between the .canvas and the 1 metallic strips secured between said ments and projecting a short distance into the cylinder; a` screw conreyer journaled in the ends of said casing and centered in said casing by said strips; a feed pipe and a discharge pipe communicating with opposite ends of the casing; a safety valve vin said discharge pipe; and means for rotating the conveyer.
8. In a filter press,
the combination of a cylindrical casing comprising perforated side segments; a canvas lining for each segment and having its ed'ge-f secured between the segments; and a screw conveyor in the casing.
9.- In a filter press, the combination of a cylindricalv casing comprising perforated side segments; a canvas liningfor each segment and having its edges secured between the segments; a screw conveyer in the casing; and a wire mesh between each canvas and the adjacent segment.
