rllhe primary object of my invention is to provide a dispensing cabinet that may be advantageously used forA slicing bars of buty ter into blocks or patsf7 of a uniform size,
and separating the blocks of butter whereby the bar of butter maybe intermittentlynor progressively fed into position to be sliced and the blpclrs cut therefrom delivered from the cabinet to be easily handled.
Another object of my invention is to provide a dispensing cabinet having a removable refrigeratory chamber that permits of easy access being had to the operating mechanisrn of the cabinet whereby ,a bar of butter can be correctly placed intol position to be sliced.

A cabinet in accordance with this inven` tion comprises a casing having a bottom 1, a rear wall 2, andside walls 3, said side walls projecting beyond the bottom 1 and at the forward edge of said bottom said side walls are connected by a transverse partition al. rllhe bottom 1, walls 2 and 3, and partition 4:, are preferably made of inner and outer spaced metallic shells between ,which is placed an insulation material 5, as mineral wool or cellular asbestos. Detachably mounted upon the pintles 11 and 12, between the ends of the rolls .13 and `14C and the bearings 8 and 9 thereof, are the slotted side arms 15.0f a longitudinally disposed conveyer support 16 and this support is adapted to prevent sagging of the upper side of an endless belt or conveyer 17 trained hover the rolls 13 and 14. Thebelt or conveyer-is adapted to hold a bar of butter or other foodstuff, land to preserve the same while in the cabinet, a metallic container 18 is placed therein adapted for holding a refrigeratory agent, as ice. rllhe container 18 has the bottom thereof provided Iwith a housing that lstraddles or bridges the conveyer 17 uand provides clearance for a bar of the container 18 there is a drip tube 20 extending through a sleeve 21 in the bottom 1 of the cabinet,'and said cabinet may be supported-in an elevated rposition by legs 22, tofpermit of a pan or other receptacle being placed under the rear end of the cabitainer 13u 'llhe forward ends of the walls 3 ar/e connected by a transparent plate 23, coperating with said walls andthe partition 4 in providing an operating compartment` 2t which has lthe top thereof closed by a. plate 25,

The lower end of the plunger 31, has a head 33 provided with a pawl 34 adapted to engage a ratchet wheel on the pintle 11 of the roll 13 so that said roll and the conveyer 17 will be intermittently moved at each downstroke of th\ plunger 31.- To prevent accidental movement of the conveyer, while the plunger 31 recedes, a resilient dog 36 n is mounted upon the bottom 1 of the cabinet to normally engage the ratchet wheel 35.
In providing theplate-26 with the opening 27, saidplate is formed with a ledge 37 at the lower edge ofthe opening 27 and below said ledge is pivotally kmounted avv tiltable shelf 38 which is held normally in a plane with the ledge 37 by a spring39. The ledge 37 and theV shelf 38 are adapted to receive the forward end of' thebar of butter 0n the conveyer 17,-so that the forward end of the bar ofY butter may bel sliced into blocks o`r pats and delivered into the lower end of the operating compartment `24.
To slide the butter bar when on the'ledge 37 and the shelf .38, the plungers 30 and 31 are connected `,by a transverse wire 40, and adjacent said wire is a projection 41 on the plunger 30 adapted to engage the tiltable shelf 38 vand tilt the same to discharge al block or pat of butter after the same s severed from the butter bar.
To hold the plungers 30 and-31 in an elevated position, the plunger 30 is connected by a coiled retractile spring 42 to the plate 25, and the lower'end of the plunger 30 is slightlycurved, as at 43, to engage and open av normally closed trap door 44 closing an opening 45 in a plate 46 forming the bottom of the operating compartment 24.
In operation, a depression of the plunger 31 causes the conveyer 17 to advance the bar of butter ,thereon until the end of the barV protrudes through the opening 27. With the plungers 30 and 31 descending the Wire 40 cuts the end of the bar of butter and releases a block or pat of butter on the tilt? able shelf 38, which is tilted as the plungers 30 and 31 complete the downward stroke. Prior to' the shelf 38. being tilted by the projection 41 of the plunger 30, said plunger engages the trap door 44 and opens the same, whereby the severed blok or pat of butter may drop into a receptacle placed prevents 'dust' or foreign matter from entering the operating compartment 24 and eventually reaching the bar of butter on the conveyer. With the conveyer actuated in advance of the slicing operation, the greater part of the butter upon the conveyer is maintained beneath the container 18 and the cooling agent used in connection with this container will` maintain the bar of butter solid and firm just as though preserved Vin an ordinary refrigerator.
It is thought that the operation and utility of the dispensing cabinet willy be apparent without further description, and while in the drawing there is illustrated a preferred embodiment of my. invention, it is to be understood that the structural elements are susceptible toV such variations and modifica tions as fall within the scope of the ap,
pended claims. e
What I claim 1s:- 1. A butter dispensing cabinet comprising a casing having insulated walls, an endless conveyer normally extending into one of the casing walls adapted to feed a bar of butter therethrough, and' butter slicing and conveyer actuating means on the wall of said casing and adapted by a single operation for' actuating the conveyer in advance of slicing butter.
2. A butter dispensing cabinet comprising a casing having insulated walls, an endless conveyer in said casing extending into one of said casing wallsadapted to feed a bar of butter therethrough, butter slicing and conveyer actuating means on the wall of said casin adapted for actuating the conveyer in advance of 'slicing butter, and a tiltable lshelf supported by the same casing and adapted to be tilted by said means after butter is sliced. i
3. A butter dispensing cabinet comprising a casing having insulated walls, an endless conveyer extending into one ofthe casing Walls'and adapted to feed a bar of butter therethrough, a container over said conveyer adapted to hold a refrigeratory agent, and butter slicing` and conveyer actuating means on the wall of said casing ladapted for actuating a conveyer in advance of slicing butter.
