VAGINAL F YRIHGE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. "2, 1936.
Application filed March 27, 1916. Serial No. 87,045.
710 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUISE T. Srnincs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of vlvlonro'e and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vaginal Syringes, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to. provide a new and improved form of vaginal syringe which may be readily assembled and taken apart.
Another object of this invention is to construct a syringe so that all the parts thereof can be easily sterilized. 1
These and other objects of the i'nventio will be fully illustrated in the drawings, described in the specification and pointed out in the claims at the end thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective :view of the syringe as it will appear when attached to hot and cold water faucets. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view. through the receptacle, the-scctmn being taken. on the line 2* 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail Sectional View of the cover for the receptacle showing a modified form thereof.
In the several. figures like reference numerals refer to like parts.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 9 .L a reference numeral ll indicates a cup shaped receptacle which is provided with a base at the bottom and a cover 3 at. the top. The cover 3 is preferably threaded and engages with the threaded end of the receptacle 1 to form a water tight joint between the receptacle and the cover. Leading into the hollow portion; of the receptacle 1 are the ducts 4, 5 and 6, which ducts are provided on the outside with suitable nipples 7, 8 and 9 respectively. Fastened to each of these nipples is a rubbe'r hose, of which the hose 10 and 11 are attached in the ordinary manner to the water faucets 12 and l-firespectively, while the hose 1:2, attached to the nipple 9, carries on the end thereof the nozzle 15 or any othcr interchangeable instrument.
The receptacle 1 contains the i'nedicament holder which consists of a small box 16 which is perforated and which may be either fastened to the bottom of the rcceptacle l or may rest loosely therein. Into this boX is inserted the antiseptic tablct'or medicated wafer or tablet as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The cover 17 of the box 16 is also perforated and slides over the top of the box to prevent the tablet from drop iiing out therefrom. in F 1g. 3 the box 16 is fastened to the inside of the cover 3'in which case the cover i7 is threaded and engages the correspondingly threaded end of the box is to hold the tablet in place therein.
In use hot and cold Water is admitted in suchproportions through the hose l0 and 11 and the ducts t and 5 respectively into the inside of the receptacle 1 that the mixture thereof gives the desired temperature. The tablet contained in the box 16 dissolves under the action of the'vater, thus admitted and is absorbed thereby. The solution then passes out through the duct 6 and hose let to the 1102x1015 0n the end thereof.
The receptacle 1 and the cover are pref erably made out of hard rubber, while the box 16 and cover 17 may be made out/0f ahuninum or other non-corrosive material.
I claim:
1. A syringe comprising a closed receptacle, a removable cover therefor, a pair of admission. ducts leading into the side of said rece}' tacle, an outlet leading out of the side of said receptacle and into a nozzle or other interchangeable instrument.
2. .tsyringe comprising a closed receptacle, a removable cover therefor, pair of admission ducts leading into the side of said receptacle, an outlet leading out of the side of said receptacle and into a nozzle, means contained in said receptacle to receive a medicated wafer or tablet. I
3. A syringe comprising a closed receptacle, a removable cover therefor, a pairof admission ducts leading into the side of said receptacle, an outlet leading out of the side of said receptacle and into a. nozzle, a perforated box in said. receptacle to receive a medicated wafer or tablet.
4. A syringe comprising a receptacle, a cover rcmovably fastened to said receptacle, a series of ductsleading into and out of the side of said receptacle, said receptacle being adapted to receive a medicated wafer'or tablet, means to admit water through some of said ducts into said receptacle and dis solve and absorb the medicated Wafer, an other of said ducts being adapted to drain the solution from said receptacle.
A syringe comprising a cup shaped re" ceptacle having a base at the bottom and a removable cover at the top thereof, a perfo rated box inside. of said receptacle to receive a medicated wafer or tablet, a series of ducts leading vinto and out of the side of said re- (:eptacle.
(3. A syril'ige comprising a receptacle. a cover removably fastened to said reeeptaele a perforated box fast ned to the inside of said cover, said, perforated box being adapted to reeeive a inedieated wafer or tablet, ducts leading into and out ol the side of said receptaele.
7. A syringe C()ll l])1'i. i11 a reeeptarle. said receptacle being open at the top. a series of ducts leading into said receptaele. a cover being adapted to open and elose the top of said receptacle without interfering with any therein and pass around and through said of said duets leading inio and out of said reeeptaele, said reeeplaele being eapable oi' rgwreivin ga medicated wafer or tablet.
H. syringe eoniprising a reeeptaele, a perlluated container in said receptacle. said eontainer being adapted. to reeeire a medieated \Yal'er or tablet, a pair of duets leading into said reeeptaele to admit \Vai'ei rontainer. an outlet froin said reee itaele to drain the solution from said reeeptaele.
In testimony whereof aliix my signature.
