wrmzsszs INVENTOR 10.1% w w Z1 I At the opposite side'the valves or dampers 15 and 16 are closed and the air and gas intake valves are opened. On reversing the Furnace, the gas and .air intake Valvesv at the right hand side are opened, the gas and air valves or dampers at that side are closed, the gas and air intake valves at the left hand side are closed and the gas and air controlling valves at, that side are opened. i
The advantages of my invention will be. apparent to those skilled in this art since it provides an exceedingly central and -efl'icient flue and valve arrangement for controlling the operation of reversing regenerator furnaces. All the flues'beingat the not compelled to make any up and down passes either in going to or returning from the regenerators. The gas intake valves, to:
', gether with the gas controlling valves or- .dampers', being set up closely to the entrance my hand.
- In a flue and valve arrangement for regenerative furnaces; the combination of air 1 and gas.regenerators,- astack flue running transversely of the regenerators, a. continuous port connecting each of the regenerators with said stack flue, said ports being at the same level as the stack flue and all opening directly into the same side of said flue, each port having an admission valve in its upper wall, and each port also having a vertically ymovable damper between said valve and the stack flue; substantially as described.
In testlmonyfwhereof, I have hereunto set LUTHER L. KNOX.
