Patented Nov. 7, 1916.
Application filed March 2, 1915, Serial No. 11,612. Renewed March 9, 1916. Serial No. 83,171
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ISAAC OTIS DAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ottumwa, in the county of Wapello and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Medicated Poultry-Bands; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. I
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in medicated poultry bands and the object in view is to produce a simple and efficient device of this nature adapted to destroy the lice with which fowl are frequently infested.
More specifically, the present invention consists of a hollow split ring or band containing an absorbent material, saturated with a formula containing an insecticide.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

'of the fowl and, when it is desired to remedicate the filler of the ring or band with an insecticide of any kind, the ends of the band may be sprung sufliciently to. allow the band to be taken from the leg of the fowl.
What I claim to be new is:
A medicated ring adapted to be passed over the leg of a fowl, comprising a resilient hollow annular casing which is split and separated at one point along its circumference, and an absorbent material containing a suitable chemical'located inside said casing.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
