and to further so construct this coin controlled mechanism that the abutment arm carried by the actuating lever may be releasably held in an inoperative position before a coin is inserted in the slot and may return to the inoperative position when the actuating lever is moved downwardly to compress the bellows.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the character described which will be simple in construction but at the same time very effective in operation.
This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a view showing the improved dispensing machine in vertical longitudinal section. Fig. 2 is a view showing the machine in longitudinal horizontal section.

The frame or housing 10 has its front wall provided with an opening 11 and has its upper wall provided with an opening 12 through which the dispensing nozzle 13 extends and a second opening 14 through which the coin chute 15 extends.
Within the housing 10 there is positioned the bellows 16, the perfume container 17.
and actuating and locking mechanism which will now be described. The bellows 16 are positioned in front 0f-the perfume container or receptacle 17 and are connected with the container by means of a rubber pipe 18 so that when the llows a e c mpressed, air may be forced into the contamer to force the perfume out through the nozzle 13. The actuating lever 19 for the bellows is connected with the bellows as shown at 20 and is pivotally mounted by means of the pin 21 which is carriedby standards 22 and 23. A spring 24 is connected with this actuating lever 19 so that the lever will be normally held in the position shown in Fig. 1 with the tooth 25 at the inner end of the lever extending through a notch 26 formed in the latching arm 27. This latching arm 27 is pivotally mounted between brackets 28 and is yieldably held in an operative position by the spring 29 with the free end of its actuating handle 30 extending into the lower end portion of the coin chute 15. It will thus be seen that when a coin is placed in the chute 15, it will drop into engagement with the end of the handle 30 and move the latching arm 27 away from the standard 23 thus releasing the lever 19 and permitting the abutment arm 31 which is pivotally connected with the actuating lever 19 to drop. The spring 29 will then return the latching arm toward the operative position and it will engage the abutment arm 31 thus preventing it from moving to a position to engage the actuating lever. The actuating lever can then be pressed downwardly to force air from the bellows 16 into the container 17 thus forcing perfume out through the spout 13. As this lever 19 moves downwardly, the abutment arm 31 will engage the lug'32 formed at the upper end of the standard 23 and the abutment arm will be swung upwardly to release the latching arm and permit it to return to the operative position, so that when the actuating lever is released and the spring moves it to the normal position, the tooth 25 will again ride into the notch 26 thus preventing the actuating lever fro-m being again moved downwardly without a second coin being placed in the coin chute 15.
I have therefore provided a perfume dispensing device which is coin controlled and which is very simple in construction, comprising a comparatively few number of parts most of which can be stamped from sheet metal or easily cast. I have further provided a device which is not liable to easily get out of order, this being due to the fact that the parts are not complicated in structure. I have further provided a machine which takes up a comparatively small amount of space and is very compact.
What is claimed'is:
1. A coin controlled fluid dispensing machine comprising a casing, a container in said casing provided with an outlet spout extending through said casing, bellows in said casing provided with a pipe communieating wlth said container, a standard 1n said casing, a latching arm pivotally mounted'in said casing, a spring connected with said standard and with said latching arm to yieldably hold-the latching arm in an operative position, a coin chute in said casing provided with an opening, an actuating handle extending from said latching arm and having its free end portion extending into the opening of said coin chute, an actuating lever pivotally connected with. said standard and having its inner end portion provided with a tooth for extending through a notch in said latching arm to releasably prevent movement of said actuating lever, a spring connected with said actuating lever to yieldably hold the same in a normal position, an abutment arm pivotally connected 1 with said actuating lever and resting upon the upper end of said latching arm when the latching arm is in an operative position and dropping to engage the face of said latching arm when the latching arm is moved to an inoperative position by a coin placed in the coin chute, and means carried by said standard for engaging said abutment arm forswinging the same upwardly out of engagement with the latching arm 'when the actuating lever is moved to compress the bellows.

A dispensing machine comprising a casing, a container in said casing provided with an outlet, an actuating lever pivotally mounted in said casing and yieldably held in a normal position, a latching arm mounted in said casing and yieldably held in an operative position for engaging said actuating lever to releasably hold the same against movement, coin operating means for moving the latching arm to an inoperative position to release said lever, an abutment movably connected with said lever and resting upon said latching arm when the latching arm is in a normal position and moving to engage the face of said latching arm to releasably hold the same in an inoperative position when the latching arm is moved to the inoperative position, and means for moving said abutment out of engagement with the latching arm when the lever is moved.
4:. A coin controlled dispensing machine comprising a casing, a coin chute in said casing provided with an opening, an actuating lever movably mounted in said casing, a latching arm movably mounted in said casing and yieldably held in an operative position for engaging said actuating lever, a trigger extending from said latching arm through the opening in said coin chute whereby a coin passing through the chute may move the latching arm to an inoperative position, an abutment movably connected with said actuating lever and resting upon said latching arm when the latching arm is in a normal position and moving to engage the face of said latching arm when the latching arm is moved to an inoperative position, and means for engaging said abutment to move the same out of engagement with said latching arm when the lever is moved out of its normal position.
