An object of the invention is to provide a novel formation of tie, with which specially designed rail fastening'means coact, to prevent lateral thrustof the rails, even should undue pressure be exerted thereon.
Another object of the invention isy to associate 'a reinforcing medium with the tie, 'inl order to reinforce themetallic tie structure or casing, and-to hold the cushioning elements fr om displacement.` Other vobjects as well as the nature, characteristic features and scope of m invention will be more readily understoo from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying-drawings and pointed out in the claimsV forming a part of this specification. A suitable instrument may then be inserteil beneath the rail 1, through the openings 3 in the top 'of the shell, when itv is`desired tovraise the rail out of engagement with the casing. .It will be understood thatthe .abovevdescription and accompanying drawings comprehendonly the general and preferred embodiment of my invention and that various minor changes inzdetails of construction, proportion and arrangement of' parts, may be made within the scope of the appended claims without sacrificimgT any of the advantages of myinvention.
Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to Letters Patent-is:
1.
