P. J". WM. CARLSON, OF VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON.
WATCH ATTACHMENT.
Application filed September 8, 1915.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, P. J. M. CARLsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Vancouver, in the county of Clarke and State of IVashington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Watch Attachments; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this speci fication.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in attachments to hands of a watch and movable therewith and adapted to disclose a visual signal to remind a person of the time to wind a watch.
My invention comprises various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claims.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a face view of the watch. Fig. 2 is a detail perspective view.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the dial of a watch upon which, at any suitable location, is a visual spot, designated by letter B, and C is a post upon which the hour hand is mounted and with which it rotates. A disk, of any suitable material and designated by letter D, has a central aperture E fitted over the post. Said disk has a recess or notch, designated by letter F, cut in the edge-thereof and one edge H of the notch is bent over as at N and adapted to clamp the hour hand in the manner shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. By this arrangement, it will be noted that the disk is movable with Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 49,582.
the hour hand and only is in position so that the notch will disclose said spot when the hour hand is opposite numeral 12, thus serving as a reminder to a person to wind the watch.
IVhat I claim to be new is 1. In combination with the dial of a watch, a visual spot thereon, a rotatable post and hour hand rotating therewith, a disk mounted upon said post and movable with the hour hand and adapted to disclose said spot when the hour hand indicates a certain hour upon the dial.
2. In combination with the dial of a watch, a visual spot thereon, a rotatable post and hour hand rotating therewith, a disk mounted upon said post and movable with the hour hand and having a recess formed therein to disclose said visual spot when the hour hand points toward a certain numeral upon the dial.
3. In combination with the dial of a watch, a visual spot thereon, a rotatable post and hour hand rotating therewith, a disk mounted upon said post and having a recess formed therein, and means upon the dial for fastening the same to the hour hand to cause the disk to rotate therewith.
4. In combination with the dial of a watch, a visual spot thereon, a rotatable post and hour hand rotating therewith, a disk mounted upon said post and having a recess formed therein, a part of the disk being bent over and clamping the hour hand and caus-- ing the disk to rotate therewith to disclose said visual spot when the hour hand indicates a certain time upon the dial. In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of witnesses.
P. J. WVM. OARLSON.
