Be it known that I, ADnIE E. CARDoZo, a citizen of the United States, residing at Washington, District of Columbia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toy Playgrounds, of which the following is a specilication.

This invention relates to toys and has special relation tothe toy simulation of a childrens playground. Y

More particularly the invention relates to a toy playground made up of knock-down or separable sections so arranged and marked that the device may be readily set up or assembled, the several parts being provided with corresponding characters at their points of junction so that the child using the toy can, by cordinating parts havin' like marks, properly assemble the device with all of the parts in their proper relationship and thereby erect the different apparatus used in such a playground at the appropriate points.

One principal object of the invention is to provide an improved toy simulation of a playground wherein knock down parts are so arranged as to be quickly assembled on a base, the latter being provided with means for holding dolls or images in proper position in relation to the various apparatus disclosed. y

A second principal objectr of the invention is to provide such distinction in the assembling indications and arrangements that no two of the apparatus set up will interfere in operation with eachother.

With the above and other objects in view, as will be hereinafter apparent, the invention consists in general of certain novel arrangements of details and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and set forth as claimed.

In the accompanying drawings like characters of reference indicate like parts in the several views, and Figure 1 is a perspective view of a toy playground constructed in accordance with this invention. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a portion of the fence used as constructed in accordance herewith. Fig. 3 is a transverse section through the fence on line III-III ofFig. 1. The fence, which surrounds the entire base consists of sections each having spaced stringers or rails 12 and pickets 13. These sections are detachably connected at the corners by dowels 14, fitting dowel holes 15, and depending from the bottom rail 12 are dowels 16 which lit suitable holes in the base so that, when the fence is assembled, the parts of the base are locked together by the coperation of the transverse fence sections with such base. A gate 17 is preferably provided in one of the fence sections to assist in the simulation of an actual playground.

Located at various points within the fence are different forms of playground apparatus such as the tennis court 18, merry-go-rounds 19 and 19', swings 20, sand boX 21,seesaws 22, slide or chute-the-chute 23, frame 24 for flying rings 24a, trapeze 24b and ladders 24, and tether ball 25. The ends of the supports of frame 24, carrying the trapeze 24qu and flying rings 24b are held together by dowel pins 24C. and 24d, fitting in corresponding holes of the other parts, as shown'in Fig. 4. Of course, the particular number' and arrangement of these various pieces of apparatus may be varied at will, but in. each indoweled removably into the base and where joints occur these are preferably connected by dowels as shown in Fig. 4.

In order to properly support the dolls or images 28, on the base sections 10, 10', said sections are provided at appropriate places on or adjacent the various apparatus With loops 29, made of Wire or other suitable material, which receive the toe portion of one of the dolls feet and thereby prevent the doll from falling over.

From the foregoing itwill be plain that there has been provided an improved toy of this description which can be readily set up for play or taken down for storage and packing.
