ALBERT BBOADMEYER, OF HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE W. O.
HIGKOK M'ANUFACTURING OF PENNSYLVANIA.
(30., OF HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA, A CORPORATION PAPER-SUPPORTING TABLE FOR PAPER-FEEDING MACHINES.
1,183,627. Original application filed May 20, 1915,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT BROADMEYER,
a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and
a resident of Harrisburg, in the county of Dauphin and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Paper-Supporting Tables for Paper-Feeding Machines, of which the followin is a specificatiom y present invention relates generally to,
paper feeding machines of that nature described and shown in my application Number 29,326, filed May 20, 1915, and is, more particularly, an improved'table for holding a stack of paper within such machine, this application being a division of my applica-' tion Number 29,326, just mentioned.
Among the objects of my present invention are first, the provision-of a feed table detachable from its support for removal when its supply'of paper has become exhausted and which, with its said support,
carries cooperating means whereby it may.
be quickly and easily placed upon such sup; port in[ definite, exact relation to the other parts of the machine, and second,'the provision of a feed table having paper guide members preventing lateral movement of the stack thereon, and capable of ready and quick adjustment to accommodate paper of Various sizes. These and otherobjects are accomplished by means of the construction shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure l is a sectional plan view of my improved feed table. Fig. 2 is a vertical cross section taken therethrough substantia'lly on line 22 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail vertical section taken therethrough substantially .on line 33 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4. is a, fragmentary perspective view showing in' detail the connection of one of the" paper gluides.
Refe iring now to these figures, it will be noted om Figs. 1 and 2 that the support for the.table 10 are vertically adjustable on uprigh guide standards 11, forming part of a frdme, portions of which are shown at tg. 2, and which frame carries vertical s :ew bars 13, said table support consistingij of brackets 1 L having end yokes 15.
engaging the standards 11, and also having centra threaded bearings 16 through which Specification of Letters Patent.

slots, in which grooves are seated plates 20,.
lamping blocks 21', being extended into the slots 19 and provided withapertures 21* for. the reception of clamping bolts 22, the upper ends of which bolts are threaded for engagement within threaded apertures 20 of the plate 20, and the lower ends of which bolts are provided with winged heads 22 as plainly seen in Fig. 3. Each of the adjusting plates 20 also carries a depending socket 23 which receives the lower end of one of the upright paper guide rods 24 extending above the table 10 at one side thereof as plainly seen by reference to Figs. 1 and 2. The adjusting plates 20 may be connected by means of a rigid bar 25 so as to render their adjustment uniform under all conditions and insure the longitudinal alinement of the rod 24.
1. In a paper sheet feeding machine, a vertically adjustable feed table for supporting a paper stack, having laterally projecting slots, plates adjustably disposed in the low the said adjusting plates; and clamping screws connecting the adjusting plates and the clamping platesv whereby to lock the former in adjusted position.
2. A feed table for supporting a paper stack, havinglaterally projecting slots, plates adjustably disposed in the said slots and provided with depending sockets for the reception of guide rods, and clamping jeeting guide rods for the paperymeans means Working in the said slots for securing working 1n the said slots for securing the 3. A feed table for supporting a paper and a rigid connection betweenthe saidd- 5 stack, having a pair of: laterally projecting justing plates whereby to insure their uni-z slots, a pair of adjusting plates movable in form adjustment and alinement in 0 erati0n..;' the slots and provided with upwardly pro- ALBERT BROADM YER.
