To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, VICTOR citizen of the United States, residing at Chatcolet, in the county of Kootenai and State of Idaho, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Liquid-Feed Governors, of which the following is a speci fication. 1 I
This invention relates to improvements'in liquid feeding governors, especially adapted for liquid separating mechanism of the centrifugal type.
The invention relates more particularly to that class of governing feeding devices including a valve, controlling the flow to the separator, the valve beingopened only after the separator has attained a predetermined speed. In this class of feeding devices it is important that the controlling valve operates instantly toward a closing position when the speed decreases from a predetermined standard and therefore it is one of the ob jects of this invention to provide a spring controlled valve, the spring acting normally to close the valve against the action of the governor to open the same. By means of this combination, the controlling valve is never opened until the governor positively actuates the same upon the attainment of said predetermined speed, and further, reli ance is not placed upon the governor to close the valve when the speed lowers.
My invention alsoincludes an improved speed indicator which may be adjustably connected for operation by the governor.
In order to enhance the sensitiveness of the device to sudden changes, due to varying speed, it is important to have a quick opening and closing movement of the controlling valve, therefore I have provided an im proved closure having ingress and egress ports, preferably'arranged to provide for equal liquid passage area,
ports and arranged in such a manner that will be enough to close or open the. ingress ports thereby alwavs leaving the egress port open even when the valve is in a closed position.

As illustrated, 1 designates a frame of the separator on which is mounted the bowl casing 2 having liquid discharge spouts 3 and i for the discharge of separated liquid.
A supply tank is indicated at 5 and communicates with the supply pipe 6 which delivers the liquid to be separated into the bowl. A controlling valve is indicated at 7 and is showr'f'more particularly in Figs. 6, 7 and 8, to which reference will now be made. Said valve includes a valve casing 8, interposed in the pipe 6 near the discharge end of the latter. The casing 8 is provided with a rectangular ingress port which is preferably divided into two ports 9. Said casing is provided with an egress port 10 which comprises a single undivided opening of a liquid volume passage capacity equal to or substantially equal to the passage area of the ports 9. On the outer end of the controlling shaft 54 is mounted an arm 60 to which ispivoted one end of a link 61, as indicated at 62. The link ma be jointed, as indicated at 63, if de sired. he remaining end of the link 61 is releasably connected, as at 64, with arm 23, and ma be jointed, as indicated at 65 Now be seen that contra-clockwise adjustment of shaft 54 will serve to open the controllin valve and that a clockwise movement shaft would tend to close the controlling valve. However, as before stated, reliance is not placed upon transmission of power from the governor to the controlling valve to close the latter, as the latter'w-ill be instantly closed by its spring 24 as soon as {stress on the arm 23 has been released;

It is believed that the advantages and utility of my invention will be clearly underv stood from the foregoing description, and while I have herein shown and described one specific form of my invention, I do not closure in said casing provided with a stem,
