DOOR-GUIDE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 2, 1%16.
Application filed October 12, 1915. Serial No. 55,462.
f0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BARNEY H. OENNING, a citizen of the United'States, residing at Uniontown, in the county of Whitman, State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Guides; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which itappertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to door guides.
The object of the invention is to provide an improved door guide which is always stable, is not affected by the weather, yet which will prevent the door from swinging away from the sill at the bottom and thereby permit escape of the stock from the barn or the breaking, injuring or wrenching of the door.
A further object of the invention is to provide a guide of the class described situaated at the bottom of the door and which will serve to prevent the door from becoming disengaged from the track at the top.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in which-- Figure 1 is a view in elevation of a slid-' ing barn door embodying the invention; Fig. 2, a section on the line 22 of Fig. 1 on an enlarged scale; Fig. 3, a section on the line 33 of Fig. 2, and Fig. 4, a section on the line H of Fig. 3.
Referring to the drawings A indicates a. barn door which is slidably supported. by means of roller brackets 10 secured to the top thereof and engaging a track 11 mounttend repectively through slots 19 formed in a plate 20, said plate bearing against the arm connecting portion of the bracket 17. Threaded on the bolts 18 are the usual nuts 21 and engaged on the bolt between the nuts 21 and the plate 20 are washers 22; The
plate 20 projects laterally of the bracket 17 and has mounted in its outer end a journal pin 23 and rotatably mounted on this pin on either side of the plate 20 is a roller 24. The plate 20 extends through the mouth 15 while the rollers 24 travel in the major portion of the groove 14 and bear against the base of the groove and the shoulder formed by the restricted mouth 15.
What is claimed is The combination with a sliding door of a sill provided'with a longitudinal groove,
having a contracted mouth, a U shaped member secured to the lower end of the door in embracing relation thereto, a plate adjustably secured to the arm connecting portion of the member and extending through the contracted mouth of the groove, a
journal pin carried by the plate, and rollers journaled on said pin on either side of the plate and traveling in said groove.
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
BARNEY H. OENNING.
