Be it known that I, JOHN citizen of the United States, residing at Gibson City, in the county of Ford andv State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Rubbing-Posts, of

' which the following is a specification.

, regulated so that more or less oil may This invention relates to certain novel and 'useful improvements in rubbing posts adapted especially for antivermm treatment in animal husbandry.

In carrying out the present inventionf it is my purpose to provide an oiling post againstwhich hogs may rub themselves for antivermin treatment and wherein the oil will be automatically fed to the post when the hogs are rubbing themselves against such post. It is also my purpose to provide an oiling post wherein the movement of the valve, controlling the flow of oil, may be be' delivered from the oil receptacle.

lVith the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, combin'ation and arrangement of parts hereinafter set forth .in and falling within the scope of the claims.

In the accompanying drawings; Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of an oiling post .larged fragmentary constructed in accordance with the present invention. Fig. 2 is a view in front elevation ofthe post. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view through the same. Fig. 4 is a transverse sectional view. In the present instance, the outer surface of the extension 15 is formed with a longitudinally extending groove 19-that forms a guideway for the wedge block 16. In practice, the reservoir 2 is filled with crude oil or other antivermin liquid and the hogs rub against the arm 12,,thereby swing: ing the latter about its pivotal connection with the.brac'ket 8. In this swinging of the lever, the wedge block in engagement withthe stem 7 of the valve 6 actuates the latter to open position, thereby enabling the antiv'ermin liquid to flow from the reservoir down along the outer surface of the arm.

The upper end portion of the arm carry ing the extension 15 is offset as at 20 and the upper surface of the offset portion is channeled as at 21 so that the liquid flowing from the reservoir may drop into such channel and flow down the ribbed concaved side of the arm.

While I have herein shown and. described one preferred form of my invention by way of illustration, I wish it to be understood that I 'do not limit or confine myself to the precise details of construction herein described and' delineated, as modification and variation may be made within the scope of the claims without departing from the spirit of the invention. 7
