Be itv known that we, FERDINAND Kom. and WILLIAM SnvnRNs, 'citizens of the United States, residing at Chicago, inthe county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improve-l ments in Fountain-Mops, of which the following is a specification. n

The present invention relates to improvements in `fountain mops, and has particular reference to such apparatus adapted for use in cleaning automobiles `or the like, while not necessarily restricted to such use.

An important object of` the invention is toprovide a mop V- of the above mentioned character, so constructed that the fibrous mop-head may be readily and conveniently removed from and placed upon the supporting frame, when desired.`

A further object of the -invention is tol provide/apparatus of the above mentioned cr aracter, which is simple in, construction, inexpensive to manufacture, convenient in use, strong and durable.

`Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent during the course `of the following description.

ln the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals. are employed Ato designate like parts throughout the same, Figure 1 is a plan view of a fountain mop embodying the invention, Fig. 2 is a. Central longitudinal sectional view through the same, and, lFlg. 3 is a bottom plan view of the supporting frame, with the -ibrous mop-head removed.

In the drawings, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of our invention, the numeral 5 designates a fibrous mop-head as a whole, embodying a fibrous tubular portion 6, lhaving its lower side more or less open and carrying depending layer or layersv of cord o`r strands 7, as shown. The ,tubular portion 6 is of course iexible and is removably mounted upon a tubular supporting frame 8. This tubular supporting frame 'embodies preferably longitudinally curved. tubular arms 9, the forward endsof which are'spaced a substantial distance. apart, forming a permanent mop-passage or gap* 10, which permits of the removingof the tubular portion 6 from the supporting frame and the replacing of the salme thereon. The forward spaced ends of the arms 9` are closed by plugs'll, or other suitable means. The preferably curved arms 9 are providedupon their lower faces with preferably equi-distantly spaced outlet apertures 12, discharging the water downwardly into they strands of' the mop. The rear portions of the tubular arms 9` are preferably rigidly connected with'a T-coupling 12.', having a valve structure 18, connected therewith.
