Having I claim is:

A casket cover composed of a plurality of metallic sheets, the cover being cut away at one end to provide an opening and formed with a recess extending from one end of the opening, the cover being also forined with a. transverse recess extending from the upper surface of the cover adjacent the end of the opening and a slide mounted Within the recess and movable into a position across the opening, and a i acing strip removably disposed in the transverse recess and adapted tohold-the slide :either in place across the opening or in place Within the recess.
