My invention relates to a practicable tilling machine having a motor driven rotary tool carrier arranged behindthe running or drive wheels of the carriage or machine, which machine is so constructed, that not only the running speed of the machine, but
' also its working width can easily be varied,
and this without any troublesome changes being necessaryon the carriage4 frame or in the drive mechanism of the rotary tool carrier. To this end, the rot-ary tool, carrier or its shaft, instead of being supported, as is usual,by its terminal parts,is supported only lin its middle part by means of a hollow bracket piece forming part of a rigid structure constituting at the same time the carriage frame and ing box'for the motor, the driving axle of of which is located within said hollow bracket piecesupporting the rotary tool carrier, said bracket piece serving thus at the same time as a guard therefor.

The aforesaid bracket piece m is hollow and between its side cheeks there is fixed upon the shaft la a chain wheel o connected by a chain n, 'nclosed. in said hollow bracket piece fm. to another chain the 'intermediate shaft h.
The bracket piece m is provided with an upward vand laterally projecting reinforcing rib q carrying at its rear end the center of a vertically adjustable hollow transverse beam'rlservin'g, if desired, to support a tool carrier covering roof.- The transverse beam rotary tool carrier one or more pressure or staying rollers s which may be adjustable in the .direction of it carries a sowing devicei t which may also be adjustable in the vertical direction, and finally a rake u arranged in front of the sustaining rollers s. The central fastening of the transverse beam fl' allows of the easy changing of position, exchanging and extending of said roof, roller device, sowing device and rake in the like manner as'and according to the above said changesof the main rotary tool. A depending spur o on the bracket piece lm. is designed to crush or throw down the earth tongue which during the operation may be adjustable upon their axle so that,
if necessary, their gagejeafn be adjusted in conformity with crops growing in rows.
What I claim is:
l. In tilling machines, the combination running wheels, a rotary tool carrier of with a shaft arranged behind said running wheels, a driving between said motor and the shaft of said rotary tool carrier, a further gear mechanis'm between said motor and `said running wheels, a rigid structure constituting at the same time the carriage frame and a holding and inclosing box for the driving motor and said gear rear central hollow bracket piece for supporting the rotary tool carrier shaft in its middle part and inclosing part of the first named gear mechanism.
2. In tilling machines, the combination of running wheels, a shaft arranged behind said running wheels, a driving motor, a gear mechanism motor, a gear mechanism mechanisms and comprising a v a rotary tool carrier with between said motor and the shaft of said rotary tool carrier, a further gear mechanism between said motor and the running wheels; a carriage frame box for the motor and said gearA mechanisms, having a rear part formed by a bracket piece for supporting the rotary tool carrier shaft in its middle part so as to leave sidewardly free both its halves, with the tools, said bracket piece being hollow and inclosing part of the iirst named gear mechanism, and a transverse beam centrally supported on said bracket piece to the rear of said rotary tool carrier and adapted to carry auxiliary implements on its laterally extending portions.
