bags of feed and the like.
One of the objects of the 1nvent1on 1s to provide a truck body mounted upon sultable wheels and provided with a yleldable bottom, mounted on guides in the body, the
yieldable means being so constructed as to hold the bottom normally adjacent the top of the body of the truck, so that as dliferent commodities are placed upon the bottom, the
- same will gradually descend. By this construction the efficiency of the haulers or operators of the truck is greatly increased, particularly because of the back breaking labor of bending almost double in' order to reach the bottom of the truck is entirely eliminated.
Another object of the invention is to provide a simple. and efficient construction of truck, which is inexpensive to manufacture.
Another object of the invention is to reduce the time consumed in packing the products or produce, or other commodities in the truck.
In practical fields the details of construction may necessitate alterations, falling within the scope of what is claimed.
The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed.
In the drawings :Figure 1 is :1 view i perspective of the improved truck constructed in accordance with the invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view. Fig. 1 is a perspective view looking upwardly toward the bottom of the truck. Fig. 5 is an enlarged detailed section view through a part of the movable bottom, one of the beams 4 and one of the brackets 10, showing one of the rods 8, a socket plate 7 and a coil spring on the rod.
Referring more especially to the drawings, 1 designates a truck body, which may be of any suitable shape, preferably rectan- Specification of Letters Patent.

gular in plan view, and comprisesthe ends 2 and longitudinal sides 3 and the supporting beams 4 at the bottom, which beams 4 extend transversely of the body, and are connected at 5 to the sides at their lower edges. The end beams, however, are secured to the end parts 2. Removably mounted in socket plates 7 in the transverse beams 4 are the lower ends of the rods 8, the upper ends of which are mounted in sockets 9 of the angle secured at 11 to the end portions of the body. However, before inserting the upper ends of the rods 8 in the sockets 9 the movable y'ieldable bottom 12 is placed in the body, so that the rods 8 will pass through the apertures 13 of the corners of the bottom 12, there being coil springs interposed between the movable yieldable bottom 12 and the lower socket plates 7. These coil springs 14 constitute means to hold the bottom 12 normally adjacent the upper edge of the body. When different produce or products or other commodities are placed upon the bottom 12 it gradually descends, the weight of the different commodities acting to gradually overcome the tension of the springs. The upper surface of the articles or commodities on the bottom 12 as it descends, incident to additional weight being placed thereon, remains substantially flush with the upper edge of the body, therefore in this manner the back breaking labor of bending over the truck to reach the bottom of the same is eliminated. To further guide the bottom 12 in its movements, the ends and sides of the body are provided with vertical guide strips 15, which are dove-tailed in the dove-tailed recesses 16 of the end and side edges of the bottom 12. Carried by the under face of the transverse beams or bars 4 are supporting brackets 17 having suitable wheels 18, whereby the truck may be wheeled or rolled from one place to the other. The ends of the body are provided with suitable handles 19, to permit the haulers or laborers to conveniently handle the truck.
The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful is In combination, a truck body open at the top and bottom, cross beams extending transversely of the bottom, a movable bottom mounted in said body, said cross beams having sockets, angular brackets secured to the ends of the body adjacent the top and extending partially over the interior of the body, guides mounted in bearings of the In testimony whereof l have signed my overhangmglml'ts of the brackets. and then name to thlsspeclfication in the presence of lower ends 111 sand sockets and extendlng two snbscnbmg witnesses.
