IMPROVEMENT lN COM POUNDS FOR THE CURE OF SPAVIN.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,135, dated June 20, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, WILLIAu J. ANDREWS, of East Machias, in the county of Washington and State of Maine, have invented a certain new and useful Specific for the Cure of Spa-Vin; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The object which I have in View is the cure of spavin in horses; and the invention consists in the combination of ingredients hereinafter mentioned.
To enable others to avail themselves of the benefit of my discovery, I will now describe how it is compounded.
I take two ounces alcohol; one ounce oil spike; one ounce turpentine; one ounce cantharides, pulverized; one-halfounce aqua fortis. These ingredients are put into a suitable phial, and in about fifteen days the compound is fit for use; but, in the mean time, the contents of the phial should be frequently shaken in order that the ingredients may become thoroughly incorporated or mixed.
