siding at Kopperl, in thecounty of Bosque and State of a-exas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements 'in Self- DumpingDrag-Harrows, of which thefollowing is a specification, reference being had therein'to the accompanying drawing.
. This invention relates to harrows, and has for its objectthe production of asimple and V eflicient harrowwhich is constructed of a minimum number of parts and which may,-'
therefore, be manufacturedkat a minimum CO'St. 1 1 a 'Another object. of this invention is the production of-a simple and eflicien't means for elevating the harrow and turning the teeth of the harrowto such a position as to allow the accumulation which has been gathered thereby to be readily removed therefrom.
With these and other objects in view, this invention consists of certain-novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts as wil-lbe fully brought'ou't in the following specification. 7 In the drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan view of the harrow. The centrally located harrow bar 24 of each harrow carries a pair I of segmental runnersv 25, which runners comprise substantially two-thirds of a circle, and are held in engagement with the bars 24 by means of the transverselycxtehding bolts 26 passing through'the'hubs 27 of the run ners 25 and through the bars 2 1.

runners will be rotated and by coming in contact with the ground the harrows 14 will be elevated to the position shown in dotted lines and the harrow tooth supporting bars 17 and 24 will be swung so as to cause the harrow teeth 18 to be rearwardly inclined, thereby allowing the accumulation which has been gathered by the harrow to be removed or dropped therefrom. By again operating the lever 11 to the position shown in full lines, the harrow may assume its normal position and it should be understood that by moving the lever 11 to an adjusted position, the angle of the teeth 18 may be regulated at the will of the driver of the machine or harrow.
From the foregoing description, it will be seen that a very simple and eflicient means has been produced for changing the angle of the harrow teeth and at the same time elevating the harrow body without a great amount of effort on the part of the operator of the machine in view of the fact that the runners 25 will assist the operator in raising the harrow, for as soon as the runners have been thrown into engagement with the ground, the forward movement of the harrow will cause the runners 25 to further rotate thereby assisting the operator in elevating the harrow to the desired position. Merely by throwing the catch 11 into engagement with the quadrant, the runners 25 may be held in a set position.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed is r In a device of the class described the combination with a harrow supporting frame, said supporting frame consisting of a pair of arallel bars, eachof said bars having an offset end, a pair of frame beams, socket portions carried at theirear end of said frame beams, harrow bars carried by by said beams, said ofiset ends fitting into said socket portions, and an'aXle supporting said supporting frame, runners carried by said harrow bars, and means engaging said runners for bodily raising said harrow bars upwardly.
