J ULES TOURNADRE, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
CONTAINER AND DISPENSER.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Sept. 21, 1915.
Application filed November 17, 1914. Serial No. 872,659.
It is an object of my invention to provide a simple, substantial and sanitary container for semi-fluid condiments, and from which it may be dispensed with facility irr desired quantity.
The invention consists of a container with a tubular interior longitudinal ridge terminating in an external spout and having a turnable cover engaging a central screw upon which 1s mounted a piston It also comprises details of construction which will be more fully explained by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective of the device partly broken away. Fig. 2 is a horizontal or cross section. Fig. 3 is a cross section through the cap showing the groove.
2 indicates acylindrical container, having along one side an interior tubular ridge 3 forming a duct open at its lower, inner end and terminating at the top with a spout 4. The container is covered with a cap 4:, turnable thereon and having a socket 5 to receive and fit the polygonal head 6 of a screw 7. Upon and shiftable by the screw 7 is an expressing plunger or piston 8 snugly fitting the inner surface of the cylinder and notched at 9 to receive the ridge 3. Each of the parts is entirely separable from the other and readily cleaned and reassembled.
To charge the container, the cap and the piston, with its screw, are removed and the condiment inserted. The piston is shifted to the top of the screw and placed in the container and the cap adjusted thereon so suitably that the head of the screw or male part enters the female part or socket 5. Turning the cap in the direction of the indicating arrow a forces the piston down and this expresses the contents of the container through the duct and spout 4:. i
To prevent the cap from being removed from the receptacle 2, except at a predetermined position, it is provided with a flange 10 internally grooved at 11. The groove is opened'at 12 for the entrance of a lug 13 on the exterior of the receptacle which interlooks with the cap by lying in the groove 11.
The cap can be turned without coming off and can be removed by alining the entrance l2 and-the lug 13.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is,
1. A dispenser comprising a container having an interior tubular ridge leading from the bottom to the top of the container, a plunger notched to receive the rib and having a central threaded aperture, a screw threaded through said aperture and having a polygonal head, and acap for the container having a central depending socket to receive and fit the screw head so as to allow the cap to be connected to the screw ready to rotate the latter by merely placing the socket on top of the head.
2. A dispenser comprising a container having an interior tubular ridge leading from the bottom to the top of the container, a plunger notched to receive the rib, a cap on the container and means to rotate the ,screw from the cap, said ridge serving as a witnesses.
