Specification of Letters latent.

- Application filed May 1,1a15. Serial No. 25,220. I
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we', ADISON J. JOHNSON and ROBERT L. SKINNER, citizens of the United States, residingat Bethany, in the county of Harrison, State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Wrist-Watch Holders, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to a wrist watch holder and has as its principal object the provision of a holder for watches to be used in connection with bracelets and the like which shall be strong and simple in construction and convenient to use.
A second object of our invention is to provide a holder for hunting case watches which will include an unbroken ring of metal, but which will also include means for securely holding the watch and which will be convenient to use.
A final object of our invention resides in the particular arrangement and combination of parts hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawings F1gure 1 is a side view of a braceletincluding our improved holder, and showing a hunting case watch therein and the case open. Fig. 2 is a view of the watch and holder shown in Fig. 1 taken from the left of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view of the watch and holder shown in Fig. 1 taken from the right of Fig. 1, showing the watch case open. Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the holder shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3. Fig. 5 is a bottom view of the holder as shown in Fig. 4. Fig. 6 is a top plan view of the holder as shown in Fig. 4. Fig. 7 is a sectional view of the modified form of holder designed for use with watch cases having no hinges thereon. Fig. 8 is a sectional view of a modified form of holder similar'to the one shown in Fi 7 except that counter-sunk screws are use Throughout the separate views the same part is designated by the same reference character.
Referring more particularly to the drawing, 1 is a continuous ring whose cross section is so formed that the ordinary hunting watch case fits sn'ugly therein. Such a watch case is designated at 2. At one point the ring 1 carries an integral lug or projection 4 on which is an eye 8 to which the wristlet 9 may be secured; Diametrically opposite the lug 4 is a second lug 6 having an aperture 7 therein. It will be seen that the lug 6 lies substantially in the central is pivoted a clasp member 3,. the end of the.
Referring more particularly to Figs. 7 and 8, it will be understood that many watch cases are not provided with hinges and for such cases we use instead of the slotted lug 5 a block such as 17 which is so shaped as to form a pocket or socket for holding one edge of the watch case, the stem being held by the clasp arrangement comprising the members 3 and 4 as in the form shown in Figs. 1 to 6 inclusive. The block 17 may be held in lost even if it should be forcibly torn from the clasp.
It will further be seen by the drawing that the improvement will provide means by which a hunting case watch may be used with a wristlet allowing the free opening of the case by pressure on the stem of the watch in the ordinary way.
Having thus described our invention, we rigid with the ring for holding the watch in 10 claim place 011 the ring, said last mentioned mem- A bracelet watch holder comprising a conher being integral with the ring and having tinuous ring shaped to fit a watch case, a recess therein for receiving the hinge of 5 clasping means for holding the post of the the watch.
Watch case including a clasp-member mount- In testimony whereof We afiix our signaed to swing in a plane at right angles to the tures. plane of the ring, and a member diametri- ADISON J. JOHNSON. cally opposite from said clasping means and I ROBERT L. SKINNER.
