The upright 28 is supported by a bar 29 'connectingthe upper extremities of the arms 15. The upright 28 has also projecting forwardly therefrom the arm 30 through the" outer or free extremity whereof is threaded the stop screw 31 with which the forwardextremity of the rock member 20 is adapted to engage and wherebythemovement of the rock member 20-under the influence'of the retractable member 26 iscontrolled.

For the successful operation ofmyfimproved device, I find it'essential'to provide automatic means wherebythe shaft 5 will be caused to stop after having made one complete revolution, for purposes which are believed to be clearly apparent to those skilled in the art to which my present invention appertains. In order to'accomplish this function, I loosely mount on the outer extremity of the shaft 5 the pulley 38 adapted to be cou'pled'withany suitable source-of powerand having its hub'39 provided with an inwardly. disposed sleeve-l40 adapted to overlie the central extension 41 of the "disk 42 keyed to the shaft 5-. The inner surface -of'the'sleeve39 is provided with the ratchet teeth 43 which are adapted; to coact with a pawl 44 fixed to a shaft 45rotatabl-y sup- ;portedin a marginal portion of the disk "42 and normally maintained in such engage ment through the medium of the retractable member 46 secured to the periphery of the disk 42 and to the outerextremity of an arm 47 secured to the opposite extremity of the shaft 45. Pivotally engaged with the bearing 6 is a trip 48 which 'isnormally maintained in the path of, the arm 47 through.
the medium of the spring 49 and whereby it will. be readily perceived I that when such arm 47 contacts with the trip the dog 44'will be disengaged from the sleeve 40 which thus assures the automatic stopping of the shaft at the completion of one revolution.
I As herein embodied, the trip 48 is in the 7 form of a bell lever and has secured to its outer extremity-the rod 50 which is operatively engaged with the foot lever 51 wherer.

While not essential, I findit of advantage to assist the action of the'spring49 by the. expansible 'member 52 properly positioned below and coacting with the foot lever 51 I also find itof advantage to provide the marginal portion of the inner face of each of the members 3 immediately in advance of the groove 10 With the recess 3 so that the severed ends of the cord will not catch between the adjacent faces of the members 3 and disk 4:.
From the foregoing description, it is i thought to be obvious that a tipping machine constructed in accordance with my invention is of an extremely simplefand comparatively inexpensive nature and is par; ticularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled, and it will also be obvious 1.
