, Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. The combination of printingmeans operable at either one of two different speeds to print a two-page wide web; means for slitting the web to form web-members; opposite turners and web-forwarding means adapted to turn the web-members to cause them'to run at right angles to their initial line of travel and toward a common center; a single-width cutter intermediate of and in line with said web-forwarding means and operable at either one of two different speeds to make two cuts for each revolution of the printing means; and two opposite carriers jointly effective to carry cutsrunning from the cutter to the carriers-alternately when the cutter is operating at either speed', an either one singly efective'to carry all the successive cuts when the cutter is operating at the slower speed.

4. In an apparatus ofthe class described, in combination with printing, associating and slitting means; two turners adapted to turn main web-members and a supplement web-member between the main Web-members; a rotary supplement cutter below the Y turners adapted to cut the supplement Webmember into one-leaf supplement sheets;f
main cutters adapted'to cut the main webmembers into two-leaf main sheets; and two rotary folders adapted to fold pape-rs com prising two-leaf main sheets cut by the main cutters and one-leaf supplement sheets cut by the supplement cutter.
5. The combination of plate cylinders a plurality of pages in width, two pages in circumference and equipped with plates having columns lengthwise of the plate cylinders and adapted to print on a plurality of. webs at each revolution of the plate ylf' inders all the pages of a complete paper ncluding two-page inserts, by means of one set of plates for main pages of each paper, and two plates for each two-page insert; means for slitting the web to form we members edge to edge; two turners in line with the main web-members effective to turn the web-members to run face to face; means for forwarding the insert web; means for disposing the quarter -turned insert web be- .tween the two turners; a pair of full-speed inders to cut the mainweb-members into sheets' in length equal to the width of two pages plus mar ins; means for inserting the insert cuts witi the main cuts; two rotary folders adapted to make the rst fold of the main cut; means for assembling the firstfolded cuts running in a straight line; and a second folder adapted to fold together all the first folded cuts, to produce at each revolution of the plate cylinders a complete second-folded paper comprising main pages printed by one set of main plates and insert pages printed by two plates for each insert sheet.

The combination of printing means adapted to perfect on both sides of continuously moving parallel webs the matter of main pages in rows with columns cross-wise of the webs and the matter of supplement pages in rows with columns cross-wise of a web-member; means for slitting the webs length-wise between the rows of pages to divide the webs into two edge-to-edge groups of web-members comprising main web-members in both groups: and a supplement webmeniber in one group; means for effecting a quarter turn of all the web-members to dispose face-to-face the groups of web-members originally running edge-to-edge; a supplement cutter between the face-to-face groups of web-members; means for leading the supplement web-member to said supplement cutter; a main carrier coperating with the supplement cutter means for associating on the main carrier web-members from both groups and associating therewith sheets cut from the supplement 'web-inember; a main cutter adapted to cut into twoleaf sheets the associated main web-members lon said main carrier; a first folder adapted to fold centrally said two-leafl sheets, to form first-folded papers; and a second folder adapted to malte the second fold of said papers.
7. The combination vof printing means adapted to perfect on both sides of continuously moving parallel webs the matter of main pages in rows with columns cross-wise of the webs and the mattei' of supplement pages in rows with columns cross-wise of a web-member; means for slitting the webs length-wise between the rows of pages to divide the webs into two edge-to-edge groups of web-members comprising main web-members in both groups, and a supplement web-member in one group; means for effecting a quarter turn of all the'web-members. to dispose face-to-face, the groups of web-members originally running edge-toedge; a supplement cutter between the face-T to-face groups ot' web-members; means for leading the supplement web-member to said supplement cutter; a main carrier coperat- -ing with the supplement cutter; means for associating on the main carrier web-meinliers from both groups and associating therewith sheets cut from the supplement webmember; a main cutter adapted to cut into two-leaf sheets the associated main webmembers on said main carrier; a first folder adapted to fold centrally said two-leaf sheets, to form first folded papers; a second folderw adapted to malte the second fold of said papers and a delivery device adapted to receive said second folded papers.
8. The combination of means for forwarding a web to the cutting cylinders; two co-acting cutting cylinders rotative at either one of two different speeds and each having two diametrically opposite cutter-elements co-acting with the complemental cutter elements on the complemental cutting cylinder to cut off sheets in length equal to the width of one page plus margins; sheet-holding devices on each cylinder diametrically opposite to each other and respectively7 adjacent to the' cutter-elements on that cylinder and capable of variable operation; controlling means effective for variable control ofthe sheet-holding devices ou one cutting cylinder; and other controlling means elfective for variable control of the sheet-holding devices on the complemental cutting cylinder.
9.
