JOSEPH STREIT, OF PLEASANTON, NEBRASKA.
ANIMAL-TAIL HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 3, 1915.
Application filed November 24, 1914. Serial No. 873,776.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, J'osErH STREIT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pleasanton, in the county of Buffalo and State of Nebraska, have invented new and useful Iniprovements in Animal-Tail Holders, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to animal the object beingto provide a simple, cheap and effective device of this character especially adapted for employment in holding a cows tail to prevent the switching thereof during the milking process, and the improvement further resides in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts set forth in thefollowing specification and falling within the scope of the appended claims.
In the drawing: Figure l is a perspective view showing the device applied, and Fig. 2 is a similar View of the device.
In the drawing, 1 designates my improvement in its entirety, the same including a flexible band '1" having-one of its ends provided with a spring catch 2, the outer face of the band to its side opposite that pro- .vided with the spring catch, has secured thereon a flexible strip 3, the securing elements at of the strip being spaced to provide what may be termed a plurality of loops 5, and within each'of the loops is arranged a ring member 6 which is adapted to be engaged by the spring catch. These loops extend approximately one-half of the length of the band, and the end securing member for the stripmay also be employed for securing to the band a strap 7 the end of the said strap at its connection with the band being loopedto receive a buckle 8, and the strap is provided with a plurality of spaced openings to receive the tongue of the buckle. I
The strap is adapted to be arranged upon the tail of the animal, while the band 1 is adjustably secured to one of the hind legs of the animal as illustrated in the drawing.
From the above description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the simplicity of the device, as well as the advantages thereofwill, it is thought, be perfectly apparent to those skilled inthe art to which such invention appertains without further detailed description.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is:
1. In a cow tail holder, a flexible band having one of its ends provided with a spring catch, a plurality of ring members upon the band adapted to be engaged by the spring catch, a strap secured upon the outer face ofthe band and having its inner end provided with a buckle, the said strap being provided with perforations to receive the tongue of the buckle.
2. In a cow tail holder, a flexible band having one of its ends provided with a spring catch, a flexible strip connected with the band, spaced members connecting the strip to provide the same with aplurality of loops, a ring within each of the loops to be received by the spring catch, a strap having one of its ends secured approximately to the central portion of the outer face of the strap and having its inner end provided with a buckle, the said strip having perforations to receive the tongue of the buckle.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOSEPH STREIT. Witnesses A. T. ,REYNOLDS, ELMA HANNEMAN.
