I i The time of feeding is determined by the position of the cam '63 on the drum. This cam ring is normall y clamped by set screws 87 (Fig. 3) which clamp the gear 43 in fixed position on the drum. When it is desired to change the position of the cam, the drum is turned so as to bring the set screws 87 opposite openings 88 in the frame plate 11,,and then. a screw driver inserted through these openings loosens the screws so that it is possible to shift the gear and cam. This shifting may be conveniently accomplished by locking the gear and turning the drum by its shaft. To provide for this locking I mount a bell crank 89 on the frame which may be turned to cause its nose to project between the teeth of the ear. This car lock may also be employed to hold the drum in stationary position when sliding lines of type into the channels between the rails.

Any suitable means may be employed to ink-the type carried by the drum. I have illustrated for this purpose a fountain or self-supply roller 96 loosely mounted in ways in the frame plate and bearing upon a form roller 97 which contactswith the type on the drum. Fig. 1 also shows'studsf98 which (with studs at the other end) may carry spools about which'are wound the ends of an inking ribbon which extends about the drum. I"
Itwill be seen that the printing machine shown-in the drawings is very simple and cheap in construction, and, at the same time, produces a complete printing machine, it being only necessary to rotate the drum and feed. paper to the feed rollers.
Having thus described my invention, what r I claim is:

2. The combination of a pair of upright frame plates, a horizontal printing roller and platen extending'between said plates, a
feed roller extending between said plates and mounted on a stationary axis, a guide plate extending between the frame plates and pivoted to them, and a second feed roller carried by the guide plate.
3. The combination, with a pair of upright frame plates, of a rotary printing couple carried and between said plates, an under feed roller geared with the couple, an upper feed roller, a plate having forward ears by which it is pivoted to the frame plates, and having rearward cars by which it carries said upper feed roller.
4. The combination of a stationarily mounted feed roller, a bodily movable feed roller, a curved guide plate as long as the width of the paper to be fed, ears on the rear end of said guide plate carrying the journals of the bodily movable roller, and
rollers, one of which is bodily movable and as long as the maximum Width of paper which may .be fed, a longitudinal guide plate carrying the bodily movable feed roller and pivotally mounted, .a stop finger, mechanism for automatically rocking the stop finger when the guide plate is rocked, and means for rocking the guide plateto bring the roller into action and to withdraw the stop finger.
7. The combination of a rotary printing drum, a rotary coactingplaten, a gear on the drum, a meshing gear connected with the platen, a paper feeding mechanism, a cam mounted on the gear on the drum for controlling the paper feeding mechanism,
and means for turning'the drum, and a device adapted to engage between teethon the gear on the drum for holding it in place.
8. The combination of a rotary printing drum, a gear ring thereonmovable about the drum, means for locking the said gear in 1. In a paper feeding device, the combiplace on the drum, means for turning the memes drfiir. means for holding the gear iride pendently bf the drum whereby the. drum may be turned within the gear to change the relative position-of the gear, paper feeding 5 mechanism, and a cam for controlling the same adjustable with said gear.
9. The combination of a pair of upright frame plates, a shaft journaled therein, a rotary printing drum on said shaft, a gear 1 ring movable about the drum, a screw for locking the gear in place on the drum, there being an opening through one of the frameplates to provide access to said screws, means for turning the drum, means for holding the gear independently of the drum, paper feedingmechanism, and a cam for controlling the'same adjustable with said gear.
