State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Adjustable Hoe, of which the following is a specification. I

' The invention relates to improvements in hoes.

The object of the present invention is to improve the construction of hoes and to provide a simple, practical, andinexpensive hoe, of strong and durable construction, equipped with an adjustable blade adapted to be arrangedto form either a chopping hoe or a scufide hoe, and capable, when arranged as a chopping hoe, f adjustment to set the blade at different a gles to suit any kind of soil.

With these and other objects in View the invention consists inithe construction and novel combination of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and pointed out in the claim appended hereto, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion,= size and minor details of construction, within the scope of the claim, may be resorted to without departingfrom the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

When the hoe blade is arranged to form a scufile hoe, the shank-6 of the handle abuts against one ofthe laterally projecting attaching lugs of the flange, and is secur ely fastened in such position 'by the key 10, which spreads, through its resiliency, to retain it in the saidiperforations '15 and 16. When the blade is arranged as a scuffle or push hoe, it is adapted for cutting grass and weeds under fences and various other places inaccessible to a chopping hoe. The shank 6 is provided with a threaded tang or attaching portion 17, which is secured in the outer end of the handle 5.

What is claimed is A hoe of the class described including a hoe blade, a relatively narrow flange projecting fromthe hoe blade and provided with an inner perforation and having an outer arcuate series of perforations, a handle provided with a shank bifurcated to receive the flange and pivoted to the same,
